I brushed my hair out of my eyes, Letting them adjust to the light of the cave.

Wait again, light?

The walls were dotted with what looked like emeralds, which were emitting a soft greenish light. I moved forwards, exploring, and realised that it went back a long way. It was large, and I noted other tunnels coming off it absently. I hesitated by one, and was about to enter, when -

'Who are you?' A bold feminine voice behind me asked.

Well that was a rude interruption

Be quiet mind.

You're talking to yourself.

No one else to talk to.

Yes there is. That voice had to come from something.

I slowly turned. Gasped in open disbelief.

Well then. That's unexpected

Well no.

Before my eyes stood 5 angels.

Literally.

The one on my left had soft pastel blue, dove like wings and light tea coloured hair. She stood, looking as though she was fighting with being shy, curiosity and need to hide. On her left was a raven haired, starling winged angel whose downy feathers were spotted with colour.

It's paint. Wow.

On the right was an angel with deep sapphire wings, and looked like the one on the other side in features. His wings were twitching as though they wanted to fly. On his left was a golden winged, blonde haired angel stood, the sunflowers on her dress literally moving in the wind.

Magic. There isn't even any wind here.

In the centre was...

wow.

wow

wow

A pale skinned angel stood slightly forward, eagle like wings folded neatly around her shoulders with their tips nearly touching the floor. A night sky and Northern Lights danced on them. Her waist length silvery white, snow like hair pooled around her shoulders. Her eyes were normal, until you reached the iris. It put me in mind of Ellie Goulding, Starry Eyed. They looked like that. Black with the universe in them. She had on a white and deep blue dress. The skirt was white, with a blue sash that wrapped around her slim waist and then up around her neck, with the top being white too.

Damn she's beautiful.

Zip. Not the time.

She is, kinda, though...

Told you so.

-.-

Why oh why, mind.

.::..:>Avery P.o.V<:..::.

I watched as he gaped openly at us.

I knew that by letting him see us, we were breaking one of the most sacred Laws of the Clouds. I'll explain those later.

'Earth to human. Who are you?' Sonnaya said impatiently. I shot her a glance to say don't push him.

She sent one to say I'm not. much.

Be careful. we don't know if he's safe, was the next look.

I know, I know. was coupled with an eye roll from her.

Ash watched in bewilderment as the golden angel and the starry one, exchanged looks.

'I'm.. I'm no one' The guy said.

'Well then, what's your name?' I asked, seeing his ability to talk return.

'Ash.' He said hesitantly.

'Well Ash, whadoo you want?' The Mistrival asked. She'd found happiness, it wasn't going to be taken away by some human.

'I'm running away. Please don't make me go back, my... my family doesn't understand.' he pleaded.

I'm going closer I gave my friends a look.

NO Was the reaction. From all of them. All of them.

Yes. My friends gave up arguing . I felt like the mother of the group sometimes, and right now I felt responsible for them.

Ash's p.o.v

I was down to begging. I knew it probably wouldn't work anyway, and dropped on my knees, feeling hopeless.

Heck, you're talking to angels. maybe you're dead.

No, I don't think I am.

Someone's beside you!

What?

I felt a hand on my shoulder, and realised I was crying. Something brushed my back, and I realised that starry eyes had knelt next to me. She had a wing folded over my back, her hands crossed on her lap. Hope stirred from her actions.

'Hey, hey. We're not going to make you leave. My name's Avery by the way,' she said, smiling.

One by one the other four came forward. Pastel wings was Vivian, she was sister to Sapphire wings, who was really called Terence. Starling wings was Mistrival, and goldy wings was Sonnaya.

I nodded to them all in greeting, then a wave of tiredness hit me. It didn't go unnoticed by Avery.

' Sleep. You must be tired.' She said gently. 'You'll be safe here.'

I heard the truth in her words and curled up where I sat.

You're going to sleep in the presence of three strangers. Angels, too. You are hella tired. sleep.

I happily obeyed.

Avery's p.o.v

I looked at my friends. They stared back at me. Ash. It suited him somehow. He was so... trusting. Or maybe just tired.

'Do you know how many laws we just broke?' Vivian said faintly. She hardly ever broke rules. The laws of the Clouds, she couldn't even fathom the enormity of it.

'3, I think,' said Terence. 'Allowing ourselves to be seen by a human, Conversing and exchanging dialog with a human, and Giving a human our identities. I think that's it.'

We swapped glances, the full weight of our situation resting on our heads. We had broke three Laws of the Clouds. If anyone found out, we had major consequences to take.

'What should we do?' Mistrival broke the silence first.

'I think we should get some protection around this mountain first. Anyone could walk in on us.' Vivian was less easily shaken.

I nodded. Viv was probably the most sensible: we could trust her to keep a cool head.

'I'll do it. I can fly fastest, it won't take long.' Terence said.

'I'll protect around the mountain. My magic is strongest.' Sonnaya stepped in too.

'Someone should get Ash some comfy bedding and food. He might not want most of our angel food, so go to Fallen Angel Takeaway or something.'

Mistrival volunteered to get bedding and other things, Vivian food. It was decided that I'd stay here to keep Ash company in case he woke up or an animal came or something.

Settling on the ground, wings furled protectively around me, I thought about the Laws of the Clouds.
