Avery's P.o.V
Golden sunlight filtered through the waterfall, dancing across the back wall of the cave. Walking outside, I did my usual full-body stretch routine.
I started by twining my fingers together, turning my palms away from me, and pushing out. Rising on to my tiptoes, I leant back, bringing my arms and still twisted fingers above my head, then down as I leant forward. Finally, I stretched my constellated wings to their limit, beating them a few times as I brought them in. I did this most mornings, to help me wake up. I'd gotten the idea from Terence, who, with all his speeding and spinning, needed to stretch often to soothe him and relax his muscles.
'Mor- ahh - ning.' Sonnaya greeted me. She was not a morning person, if you couldn't tell. 'How's our refugee human?'
'Sleeping like the dead. He's like Rachael in that aspect. Meh, at least he doesn't snore.' I didn't mention her choice of words: in a way, he was a refugee, but our refugee human? Interesting way to put it.
'Good morning!' Terence sang as he joined us, followed by Vivian. He proceeded with his morning stretch. Vivian just smiled a greeting.
'Yooaaing. Nice day, bet you a tri-hiiii-p to the sequoia it rains later.' Mistrival yawned out.
'No deal. We know you can read the weather.' Sonnaya responded.
'Awww, you're no fun!' Terence pouted. 'You're on, Mistrival. But when we go, we're racing there.' He added with a smirk.
'Don't you guys ever stop?' I said with a laugh.
'We should check the wards are still strong. I'll go.' Vivian piped up.
'I'll go too. It's been a while since I flew around the forest. Well, a week or so anyway.' Laughing, I volunteered. I loved the woods around Cave Falls. After mum... passed away, it's been my refuge. Ash's too, I guess.
'Ok. Meet back here after, k?' Terence said.
'Yeah we need to decide on our next move.' Sonnaya put in.
Nodding, I stepped forward, taking to the air as I felt the wind pick up and rush around me.
~~~ Ash's P.O.V ~~~
Rubbing sleep out of my eyes, I sat up. Avery was gone, but Rachael was still sleeping. Quietly, so as not to wake her, I got up, and exited the cave.
Rays of sunlight had managed to pierce the sheet of water. Taking a moment to wake up, I watched the light dance on the wall before making my way outside.
Just as I stepped out of the cave, a gale pushed me back, almost into the pool. Looking up, I shielded my eyes from the sun in time to see Avery and Vivian take off. They flew up into the air, spoke for a moment, then parted ways.
'Morning.' I said. The three angels turned to face me, good morning's and hi's aimed my way.
'Avery and Vivian just left to check the wards are strong.' The guy, Terence, said to me. I nodded, recalling my conversation with Avery the previous night about wards.
'It's still early. I'm going ba-aaaaaack to bed for awhile.' Sonnaya said with a yawn.
'You should stay. While Avery and Vivian are out, we can be planning what to do. Then when they get back, we can check it with them.' Mistrival suggested.
There was a general agreement to this, and we sat down around the pool.
'Morning. What have I missed?' Rachael had stirred.
'Not much. Ava and Viv have gone to check the wards, so we decided to decide on the decision to decide what to decide to do next.' Sonnaya said.
"Ava? Viv?" I asked. Terence turned to me to reply.
