My name is Amy Pond. I am 5' 4'' with long blonde hair and blue eyes. I am currently sitting at a booth with my good friend Karolin. We are at a place called "Dove's Diner". Karolin will not stop bugging me about guys. Typical of her.

"At least just talk to the next guy around our age who walks in here!" she commands me.

I sigh, "Fine". At lease this will get her to stop bugging me about this for a bit.

A few seconds later I hear the bell that tells everyone someone is entering the dinner. I turn and see a guy who looks to be about our age walks in. He is about 6 feet tall and, to be honest, doesn't look too bad, if you know what I'm saying. He has short brown hair that's parted to one side and dark brown eyes. He is wearing...a trench coat? I instantly turn back to Karolin and start arguing with her to get out of talking to this guy. It's like she can't hear me when I try to get out of something like this. She finally gets tired of me coming up with my lame excuses and pushes me.

After Karolin pushed me I tripped over a step causing me to bump into him. Just great! I turn around to face him.

"Sorry about that" I say. He looks at me and shakes some water off his jacket. It must have started raining while we were in here.

"I'd imagine you are" he retorts. Ouch, rude!

"My friend pushed me into you. I don't mean to make you angry." I tell him. I glance over at Karolin and give her a look that she knows all too well means "Now look what you've done!" She just giggles about it. I roll my eyes and turn back to the guy.

"Pardon, I don't mean to offend. I assume your friend there wants you to meet me then?" he asks.

"Actually, yes. She wanted me to talk to the next guy around our age who walked in here. She is like that...wait! How did you now that?"

"Irrelevant" he states.

He then cuts to the front of the line and tells the waitress, "I'll be taking that corner booth over there. Take your time." I look back at Karolin and see that she, like me, is shocked at his action. I turn back and follow after him to the corner booth.

"You don't just cut to the front of the line and then take whatever booth you want! That is very rude! Others could have already been waiting much longer than you!" I point out.

"Do I care?" He asks, pretending to think about it.

"NOPE." We get to the booth and he sits down. I stand there, unsure of what to do. What do I do now? I came here with Karolin. I don't want to just leave her and sit with someone I just met. My question is answered when simply says,

"Sit across from me if you would." I sit down and look around for a few seconds. Karolin knows just about everyone here. She can hang with them.

After a couple minutes I decide to break the silence. "So how old are you anyway? We just assumed you are around our age".

"I'm 18. How old are you?  Not that it matters." Again, rude.

"I'm 17. You don't really talk to people much do you?" I ask with a small laugh. Now it's his turn to be shocked.

"How did you know that?!"

"Irrelevant" I respond with a smirk.

He stares at me for a bit but is interrupted when the waitress comes up. She started to talk but he instantly cut her off saying

"Two cokes, thanks". He never broke eye contact with me. Why is he so rude?! At least he said thank you. I'm surprised he knows what that means.

"What was that?! And why do you keep staring at me?" I ask getting a bit uncomfortable.

"I'm not interested in her, but you're intriguing". Intriguing?

"Why, because I could tell you don't talk to many people?" I ask.

"Yeah, that and the fact that you haven't slapped me yet" he says as he looks away.

"Anyways, I suppose I should introduce myself. My name is Jake Matthews." I laugh at his first comment.

"Well I have a lot of patience and control. And hello Jake, my name is Amy Pond." I say as I hold out my hand for a handshake. He stares at my hand before tentatively extending his to shake mine.

"A pleasure, I suppose".

"Trust issues, or just used to getting slapped instead of shaking hands?" I ask referring to the way he shook my hand.

He cracked a smile, "a little of both". All of sudden, Jake jumps up and sprints towards the door.

"Jake, what-"I stop when I see why he ran. Jake caught the man who had just entered as he was falling. He was bleeding. Excessively.

"Call 911!"
