Solving Probelms

After Beth and My Netflix marathon I started feeling better about everything. And as soon as I know it, its next week and it's pool party day. I change into black and purple swimsuit and throw over an old camp shirt. Beth came over first to help set up. "Ok so let's put all the food inside and then all the games outside with the dogs," Beth said with a clipboard in her arm. "Have you actually planned this?" I ask. "Nope I just like clipboards,"Beth says with a little laugh. We put the pizza on a table with the cupcakes.
"Looks good," she says as Batman jumps into the pool.
People start showing up around 12 and our big Summer Blowout spectacular event starts.
"Arkansas was good," I lie to my friend, Blaire.
"That's great hey where's Skylar?" She asks.
"Oh hey Danny," Ben says.
"Better go," I say and turn to him.
"I'm sorry for Arkansas it was terrible," I say.
"No need to be sorry Sunshine. People are crazy and you had no control of Skylar's feelings," he responds.
I hear my phone go off.
"Hello?" I ask and walk away from Ben.
"Hey Danny we need to talk. Um how about I come over?" Skylar's voice says.
"Why are not already here already I aren't you an invite to Beth and I's Big Summer Blowout spectacular Event. Everyone from school is here but you," I say
"I thought you didn't want me there," she respond sadly.
"What happened there stays there," I reply.
"I'll be there in 10," she says and I smile a bit. Then I walk back to Ben.
"Sorry," I say, "Oh guess what my best friend from preschool and kindergarten is moving back here."
"That's great," Ben says, smiling.
"Harper, is her name she's moving back in July," I tell him as Bianca appears at my side.
"Hey Danny and Ben," Bianca says.
"Guys my voice hurts so much from talking I'm going to go swim," I say and go to the backyard and jump in the pool.
Beth is in there and we swim and she tells me about stuff. About how she misses Jacob, blah blah blah.
"Hey Danny," A voice says dressed in nice clothes. I turn and there is Skylar sitting in the steps.
"Oh hey," I say, "It's always a pool party."
"Oh I guess I forgot," she says and frowns.
"Hey it's fine," Beth says,"You can still jump in."
"I don't know about that," Skylar says. She stands up and goes to where Bianca is and sits to talk.
A big splash happens and a person appears next to me. He wipes his brown hair out his eyes and laughs a bit.
"I always make a splash," Ben says.
"Yea right," Beth teases.
"Only when you use a diving board," I say and Beth laughs.
I get out and dry off to get some pizza. Skylar gets up to follow me.
"So I've let Ben go I realize he likes you," she says.
"I-I don't like him," I lie and feel my face flushed, "And he doesn't like me."
"Yea right that's a plain lie," she says and grabs a cupcake.
"It isn't," I say.
"Ok fine then," she says and walks away. Why doesn't everyone think that? We don't act like that.

Once everyone leaves, Skylar, Bianca, Beth, Ben, and three other guys, August, Matt, and Charlie stay to help clean up. Matt is my neighbor who has a crush on Skylar, I've known August forever, and Charlie is their friend.
"Thanks for helping clean up," I tell them once it's done.
"No probelm," Matt says standing next to Skylar.
"We still have leftovers you can still swim or eat I have to leave for work at 3:00," I tell them and go upstairs to change into jean shorts and a Marvel shirt. When I come done all the pizza is gone, Bianca is talking video games with Charlie, and Matt is flirting with Skylar.
"It's quite entertaining," Beth says one I come down. Around 2:30, the majority of them left. Bianca had chores, August had to babysit, and Charlie had work. I go upstairs again to change into my uniform, I work at Mrs.Kate's Bakery, it's a family name company and Mrs.Kate is my neighbor so she lets me do the baking. I change into jeans, my baby blue polo, and red apron. When I walk down Skylar is freaking out next to Beth.
"Why is she so happy?" I ask Ben.
"Beth said that Matt asked her out," Ben informs me and I nod.
"There goes our Arkansas problem," I mumble.
"Huh?" He asks.
"Nothing," I say and walk over there.
"Hey Skylar congrats," I say and she smiles.
"Oh better go we are going to see a movie at 6:30," she boast and walks around to the front.
"She's over-joyed," I say and she nods.
"Better head to work Beth," I say and she goes to change. We both work there, she works the register, I do the baking. Once she's done we hop into my bug and head into downtown.
"I can't wait I love our job," Beth says and turns on the radio. She sings along as I pull into the parking lot. Mrs.Kate leaves and we take over.
"Danny, we need an order of 3 dozen orders of cupcakes. One Penut butter cup, one red velvet, and one cookies and cream and we need it this evening," she says and hands me the order.
"I can't do that alone and you can leave register," I groan.
"I'll text some people to see if they can help," Beth reassures.
Before I get all the ingredients out Ben, Skylar, and August are walking into the kitchen.
"Came to help," Ben says as he gets the rest of the ingredients.
"Don't you have a date tonight?" I ask Skylar.
"He can wait friends matter," Skylar says and I smile.
"Sorry Bianca couldn't come family issues," Beth shouts and I nod.

I show the others the recipe and August and Skylar start on the peanut butter batter when I put the red velvet cupcakes in the oven.
"Ok for icing we will need Buttercream for red velvet, chocolate buttercream for Penut butter cup, and Regular buttercream with crushed Oreos in for Cookies and Cream," I say so Ben gets started on the icing.

Once all the cupcakes have been baked and cooled we start icing and decorating. I tell them how to decorate them so August and Skylar decorate and Ben and I frost. Grabbing the regular buttercream I start frosting the red velvet cupcakes while Ben frost the Penut butter cup. I hand they other frosted cupcakes to August as they decorate them.

"Done!" Skylar says when she puts the finishing touches on the last cupcake.
"Yay!" I say as we put them in the containers.
I hear Beth talk to a costumer and I bring out the three boxes.
"Just in time," Beth says and we hand her the cupcakes.
"Thank you so much," the women says and puts a twenty in the tip jar after paying Beth. They others leave I make some cookies to restock the display. This has been an amazingly long day but it's been fun.
