Chapter Twelve: Renee's Visit

Bella's POV

It's now a week after my last trip to Seattle, right now Edward and I are heading to Seattle to pick up my mom, I already told Edward that she knew the secret. Edward's going his usual one hundred and twenty miles an hour, we would be arriving in Seattle in less than an half an hour; I still haven't told Edward I can read minds. He said, "I wonder when her flight will arrive." I replied, "In exactly one hour." He asked, "What?" I furrowed my eyes, "I answered you question." He stated, "I didn't ask it out-loud, I thought it." I said, "I can read minds, I'm sorry I didn't tell you last week. Alice thinks I can harvest other vampires gifts." Silence fell between us once again, we reached the city limits of Seattle thirty minutes later.

We pulled into the parking lot of the airport two minutes later, we headed inside and waited for my mom's flight to arrive. While we waited I debated whether or not to tell my mother about my gift's or not, I decided to tell her the next day. Edward whispered in my ear, "I forgive you for not telling me." I whispered back, "I'll make it up to you on the honeymoon." A smile spread across his face, he definitely liked what I said.

Renee's POV

 I look around for Bella, but I can't see her anywhere around the airport. Suddenly I'm taped on the shoulder, I turn around and see it's Bella. She said, "Hi mom." She pulls me into a hug, I can tell she is holding back. She said, "Let's head to the Cullen's place, Alice and Esme is getting the guest room ready for you." Edward took my bags and I followed them to a silver Volvo. I get in the back and we headed back to the Cullen's place, a place that is full of vampires.

Bella's POV

My mother was being unusually quiet, I wondered if something wrong. I turned around and asked, "Is something wrong? You're being unusually quiet." She replied, "No, nothings wrong." I sighed in frustration, she didn't want to tell me what was wrong. I said, "Mom, I know something is bothering you, please tell what it is." She said, "I don't know if I'll be safe staying in a house full of vampires." Edward said, "Bella wasn't afraid of that, she was afraid they wouldn't approve of her." I shot him a glare, but he just chuckled. I said, "You'll be safe, Carlisle is a doctor at the hospital and he's around blood all the time." Renee said, "Charlie told me what happened the last time he was at the Cullen's." I asked, "Did he tell you I protected him?" She replied, "Yes." I said, "I'm the fastest vampire there, so I'll get to you first - to protect you."

My mother seemed to calm down after that, I would protect from anyone of them, if I had to. I would never let one of them potentially harm her, I wouldn't stand for that. I asked her, "Will you come back for my wedding? It'll be two weeks from now." She replied reluctantly, "Yes, I wouldn't want to miss my own daughters wedding." I told my mom, "Phil is invited too." 

We arrived at the Cullen's mansion an half an hour later, the sun was setting just below the horizon. Watching the sun set was just a beautiful sight, I looked back at mom and asked, "Isn't it beautiful?" She said, "It sure is." We got out, Edward unloaded my mother's bags and carried them towards the house. I told her, "Vampire's can go very fast, so don't be alarmed if they act natural." She nodded her head slowly, as she followed me into the house and into the living room.

Esme and Carlisle approached my mother slowly, Esme said, "I'm Esme and this is my husband Carlisle, please make yourself at home." Renee took a seat on the empty couch, I sat next to her and Edward sat on the other side of me.  A few seconds later, Edward's siblings entered the living room. I said, "Those two are Alice and Jasper, the other two are Emmett and Rosalie." I watched Jasper as he kept his distance, I was going to keep a special eye on him. I asked my mom, "Do you want to see the room you'll be staying in?" She replied, "Sure." I grab her hand and lead her to the first guest room on the first floor, she look shocked by the beauty of the room. She said, "It's so beautiful." She walked over to the queen size bed and sat down on it.
