Chapter 8

You woke up and looked around if there were any walkers, you used the rope to help you climb down the tree then stuffed it into your bag, you saw a few rabbits and got your knife out, you followed it and threw it at it but missed, it ran off and you went over to your knife then picked it up, going after it again, you aimed a little before throwing it again, like how you would throw a dart, it hit the bunny and you went over as picked your knife up with the bunny still on it, you walked and found a few sticks, picking them up, and keeping one to stick the bunny on, you used a match to light it and took the skin off the rabbit so it's just the meat, you cut the head off and started roasting the body over the fire and when it's done you started to eat, it's been ages since you've had meat, just as you were finishing off you heard a twig snap, you kicked dirt into the fire to put it out and finished it off, wiping your hands in your trousers you got your gun out and aimed it at the source of sound, slowly walking towards it and keeping the gun steady, you carried on walking and found nothing, you sighed and carried on walking till you found a town not far from you, you carried on walking till it said 1 mile

The town name was replaced with black spray paint, you walked the remaining mile and checked the watch... 8:30pm, "it'll be dark soon.. I should find shelter" you thought as you looked around, you got your knife out and walked up the stairs to a front door, you opened the door and shut it behind you, checking all the rooms it was clear, stocking your bag up with tinned food then you walked into a bedroom that you cleared before and put the desk in front of it, you closed the curtains, placing your bag on the floor, opening it and changing into the clothes you found before, you looked at yourself in the mirror and smiled, "I look nice.." you tied your hair up since it was getting longer and that'll make it easier for people to grab if it isn't up, if it is up you can cut your hair with your knife, you laid down on the bed and closed you eyes, letting sleep consume you.

You woke up from your endless sleep and peaked out the curtains, only a few walkers, no deal, you can avoid them easily, you got off the bed and put your bag on, you opened the window and climbed out, climbing down the roof and onto the railing, you jumped down onto the grass and started following the road to the next town over, probably not the safest route but you needed to know where you were heading, maybe this road will lead you to a familiar face
