Wings of Fire- A New Generation

Chapter 6

Maleficent was struggling to breathe. "How- how did you know?" she said shakily. Pixel chuckled. "You talk in your sleep."

Maleficent couldn't believe this."No, no! Go away!" Maleficent pushed her way through the dragons. Talk in her sleep? She's never been told that before. The nightmares must have been too intense.

"Maleficent! We just want to help you! Agh- Maleficent!" Pixel and Twister and Darkturner raced after her, stumbling and tripping as they ran.

She turned to a right as the hall they were previously in ended. Maleficent looked back, and didn't see Pixel and the other dragons following her. She smirked but immediately ran into a dragon in front of her. Maleficent fell to the ground, groaning.

"Hey watch where you're going!" Maleficent looked in front of her and saw a Seawing. Next to him was her sister, Stargazer.

Stargazer was on the floor, rubbing her head. She then opened her eyes and saw Maleficent.After a while, she tilted her head, as if expecting Maleficent to do something.

"Move out of the way!" Maleficent shouted.

The Seawing and Stargazer quickly got up and moved to the other side of the hall.

"There she is!" said Darkturner. Maleficent looked behind her to see them running toward her. Maleficent got up and started running once again.

'I got to get out of here.' Maleficent thought. She was thinking quickly to where the exit was. She remembered it was by her sleeping cave, but the other way.

She shook her head vigorously by her mistake. She also saw that the hall was coming to a dead end. She looked back and saw they were not that far away. She stopped running and thought, 'I have to to face them or I will never get away from them.'

She took a breathe in and turned around. "Stop following me!" she yelled. "You know- that's not... going to be... an option." Pixel replied.

"Look," Darkturner said. " I don't agree with this legendary Queen Glory. I want someone else, a nightwing, to make the decisions. I think, it should be you. When Pixel told me about you, you seemed perfect for queen."

"I just want to get out of this jail cell." muttered Twister.

"Agh, guys I don't need your help! Leave me alone!" Maleficent yelled. "Oh, really? You, alone, is going to be queen?" Pixel said. He had a determined look on his face.

Maleficent hesitated. " Yes that's what I intended to do."

Darkturner barked out a laugh. "Wow. If you're going to be queen, your going to have to be less stupid." "Stupid?" Maleficent said angrily. "Ugh fine. Let me lead the way, we need to get out of here." Pixel looked at Maleficent with suspicion. "Okay." he said.

Maleficent walked past them, and they started walking. Dragons passing by them glanced at them but quickly looked away, and hurried to where ever they needed to go. She glanced back and saw that Pixel and the others weren't paying attention. Now was her chance. She whipped back and punched Pixel's jaw. He staggered back, groaning. "Pixel!" Darkturner yelped. Maleficent then turned to Darkturner, and scratched her underbelly. "Agh!" Darkturner groaned. Maleficent was about to lunge at Twister, but she just backed away, obviously not wanting to fight.

Maleficent took this chance and ran. Could she actually do this alone? Of course she could. She has Scarlet on her side.

Just then, she heard three gongs rumble through the hall, and saw dragonets coming out of rooms. 'They're changing classes.' Maleficent thought. 'I could blend in with the crowd.' She started to walk slower, to not attract attention. She looked back to see if they were still following her. Sure enough, she saw them turn the corner and came her way, but not noticing her. But she saw something different about them. They had fury in their eyes. 'Uh oh.' Maleficent thought. She started to walk faster.

"Hey you." said a voice. Maleficent looked around and saw the same Seawing Stargazer was with. "Yeah, you. I'm Hammerhead, and I wanted to ask you why you were such in a hurry and crashed into me and Stargazer." Maleficent couldn't believe her bad luck. "None of your business. Move out of the way." Maleficent shot back. "No. I want an answer." Hammerhead said. Maleficent glared at him. "I wanted to get to class early. Now get out of the way." Hammerhead took one long look at her and said, "Well, three moons, slow down. You could kill someone. Let's go Stargazer." He took another look at her and moved out of the way.

She didn't notice that Stargazer was close by.

'Jeez what a freak. She won't talk and she gives me that look that expects me to do something.' Maleficent thought as she walked away. Then she saw something that she wasn't expecting. Stargazer glared at her. Maleficent gave her a look of confusion.

But she quickly looked away and saw the exit.  She started for it but Hammerhead said, "Oh hey, I almost forgot,  you dropped this when you bumped into us."   He held up what looked like her necklace.  Maleficent quickly grabbed it, shocked that he even had it.     "Thanks."  Maleficent said, annoyed.   "No problem." Hammerhead replied.   

Maleficent finally get to the exit and took off. 

'Phew, that as a close one.'  Maleficent thought.  'I can't believe it came off.  Moonwatcher could of heard my thoughts.  Or.... someone else could have...'
