Wings of Fire- A New Generation

Prologue

"Starflight, they are the most beautiful dragons in all of Pyrrhia." said Fatespeaker. "Really?" Starflight responded," I wish I could see them." 

 "Stfly?" said one of there new born dragonets. "Yes! Starflight, they are saying your name!" Fatespeaker explained. "What should we call them?" There were three dragonets. "I'm not sure." replied Starflight. "Hmm, I think you should be, Wavemover." She pointed her claw to the one who had said Starflight's name. The dragonet bounced up and down at his new name. "Wavemover?" asked Starflight. "Oh, I've always liked that name." said Fatespeaker. "Oh, okay." Starflight smiled,"I like that name too." Then, Starflight moved his head to the direction of the one that was quiet the whole time." I think she should be named Stargazer." The dragonet looked at his father with curious eyes, but then looked back at looking back at the stars. "How did you know she was looking at the sky?" Fatespeaker asked. Starflight thought for a moment. "I can feel it." The last dragonet looked at them with disgust. 

"Um, I'm not sure about you." Fatespeaker said with worried eyes. There was a long pause. "Maleficent!" Fatespeaker explained. "What?" Starflight said. "Well, that's what she should be named. The little dragonet growled. "Okay, Wavemover, Stargazer, and... Maleficent." Starflight said. "I can foresee their future!" Fatespeaker explained," All of them are going to have a wonderful future ahead of them!" "Oh, can you now?" Starflight laughed, "I think I do too." "They are going to change the world." Fatespeaker said. "Yes." Starflight said,"Indeed."

Chapter 1

~Part 1~

A new Generation

Maleficent watched as her brother and sister tried to play catch the tail in the sky. "Maleficent!" whined Wavemover, "Come and play!" 

 "No," answered Maleficent,"I'd rather not." 

"Cmon', Maleficent oh powerful queen of grumpiness. Lightin' up just for a bit." He said while nipping at Stargazer's tail. 

 Maleficent ignored him.

She didn't like her brother and sister. Wavemover was happy all the time, and Stargazer was quiet all the time, and very boring. Maleficent thought of herself as the most reasonable of the group.

"Children!" Their mother called, "Children, come! It's time for dinner!" 

And for her parents, if it was a thing, they would've been given the most boring award. "Coming mother!" Wavemover yelled. 

Wavemover and Stargazer dove down toward the ground. Maleficent grumbled and sagged all the way toward their cave, where their parents were. 

There cave was huge. So big, they had a room to themselves each. 

There were scrolls everywhere, in every crack, and in every room, sometimes their parents would assign scrolls for them to read. 

Maleficent walked in and ran straight to her room. Her room was very dark and had stalactites hanging from her ceiling everywhere. The place where she slept was in the corner in the room with smooth rocks to lay on. She had one window, but it was covered by huge jungle. The only light source she had were a few torches hanging from the walls.

"Maleficent?" a voice said from the door. "Are you here?" a head poked in her room. To her non-surprise it was her father. "Yes, I'm here." Maleficent grumbled.

Her father came in. "Want to come with us to get food? You need your energy for your first day!" Maleficent's Father said. 

Maleficent remembered that school started the next day. She hesitated for a moment. She didn't like them hunting without her, for she was the best hunter, and they always took too long.  "Fine." She replied. 

"Great! Come on now." her father said. She and her father walked out and saw that her family was waiting outside.

Her favorite spot to hunt was by the banks of the lake. She always found loads of fish and the occasional deer drinking. 

She looked around the lake, not seeing anything. 

She looked behind her and saw that the rest of the family were looking at the water hoping to see a fish. 'Hm' she thought. 

Up ahead she saw the water fall. She headed up to it and landed on a bank right beside it. The ground was very muddy and squishy, and the air was misty. She shuddered. 

She looked and waited a few minutes to finally see and saw a large bear, catching fish. 'Score!' she thought. She lifted off and flew toward the bear with her claws stretched out. She was about to catch it, but suddenly Wavemover came out of know where and snatched the bear.  Maleficent screeched with surprise and slammed into the ground.

"AHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAH!" Wavemover roared with laughter. 

"Hey that was mine!" Maleficent yelled.

"Gotta be faster then." He winked and ran toward the rest of the family.

After they ate, they flew back toward their cave. She went to her room and let out a breath of fire on her sleeping corner to make it warm while she slept. When she lay down, she could here the distant giggles of Wavemover and her Mother and Father laughing. 'Nothing like me.' she thought, as she fell asleep.

As she dreamed, she looked around and realized that she was in a huge kingdom  made out of obsidian. As she looked around, she saw other Nightwings bowing at her, and felt a crown on top of her head. 

"All hail Queen Maleficent!" They cheered. Maleficent looked around proudly at her subjects.

"This could all be yours." a voice said. She looked around in confusion. Nothing in her dreams ever said anything so direct. Then, she heard chuckles coming from all around her.

Just then, an ugly and huge Skywing appeared right in front of her. "Hello, Maleficent." said the Skywing menacingly. "Who are you?" Maleficent demanded. "How do you know my name?" 

 "Oh, lets just say, I'm your friend." The Skywing chuckled. Just then, everything faded away, and Maleficent woke up.
