Soul's POV
A burst of electricity jolted us into darkness. When I awoke, Maka was lying next to me. I quickly shook her awake. As I looked up, I could see Kid, Black Star, Tsubaki, Liz, and Patty rubbing their temples.

Welcome players!

We all gasped as the booming voice that echoed through the the street.

"Players? What does that mean?" I heard Maka whisper under her breath.

Tsubaki's eyes went wide and I stared at her in confusion.

"W-when did we change into these?" She asked pointing to her clothes. Her black hair was down with a white blouse covering her chest. A black mini skirt and boots graced her legs and a black necklace hung from her neck.

I looked down at myself and man, did I look cool. I smirked at my green tank top below my white t-shirt.  My hands found themselves sliding into my black pants pockets. The black, with a striped collar, jacket swished as I walked in my black converse.

Everyone else's outfits were so cool and different.

I wonder what Maka looks like?

"U-um...Soul?" I heard her ask from behind.

I slowly turned around,"Yes Maka. Wha-"

My sentence was cut short as I saw her.

Maka was in white short-shorts with a thick belt. A crop-top with Death's number on it showed her midriff nicely. Her hair wasn't in their usual pigtails and instead covered with braids on one side. She had a pair of red converse on each foot which showed her long legs.

I quickly turned back around and wiped a small amount of blood from my nose.

Pair up players! The voice commanded.

An icon popped up in front of each of us: Choose your partner.

I scrolled through our list of names and selected Maka's. We all chose our meisters or weapons since we knew them the best.

A blue swirling portal appeared in front of each of us and we reluctantly stepped inside.

Maka and I hit the ground with a thud. I got up and brushed off the dirt. I extended my hand towards Maka and she took it to pull herself up.

We surveyed our surroundings and saw that we were in the middle of a dark dockyard. There were no people in sight and the only sounds were the crashing of waves beating the docks. Small street lamps and the crescent shaped moon were the only things allowing us to see. Several metal shipping containers littered the concrete.

"I don't like this Soul." Maka said, uneasy.

I nodded along with her while looking up at the sky, "Hey Maka, what's that?"

She looked up with me and saw our pictures and names along with a green bar stretched out in front of them. A timer began to wind down and I sensed something that I didn't like. Maka must have sensed it too because she seemed more alert.
