After a little while of walking around the dorm and talking to my dad I went to meet up with Joey and Billy.
"Hey so is it just the three of us?" I asked as we walked out the gate. Today was Saturday so we were aloud to leave.
"Yeah there are usually more of us but they're all busy." Billy replied answering my question.
We started to walk along the streets in silence. I wanted to break the silence but I wasn't sure how.
"We're almost there." Joey said nudging my elbow with his. I looked up from the stone I was kicking and saw a line of trees.
"Ya gonna murder me behind the trees?" I asked and giggled a little.
"No." Billy said in defence.
"To tell you the truth you got a cute giggle." Joey said. I looked up at him and blushed.
"Aw thanks Joey tee-hee-hee." Billy said in a high pitch voice and I just rolled my eyes.
We kept walking through the woods until we came to a fort made of tree branches. Sort of like one I used to make with my cousin when we went over to my grandmother's house.
I smiled remembering how much fun that was then I remembered why we stopped. Why we stopped playing, why we stopped going to grandma's, why we stopped talking, why grandma got put in a nursing home. That reason was that my mom died. She died when I was ten.
After she died I stopped being a kid and started to rebel. I could feel the hot tears trying to escape my eyes as I thought about how much I looked like my mom and how much I missed her.
"Megan, are you okay?" Joey asked breaking into my thoughts. I didn't answer I just kept staring at the fort and letting my thoughts travel of the great times I had with my mother of the smile I used to spread across my face that rarely is shown any more.
"Megan, seriously are you okay?" Joey asked getting louder.
"No!" I screamed then ran past the fort and deep into the woods. I didn't know where I was going I just knew I needed to be alone.
