Madeline's POV
~~~~~Recap~~~~~
After waiting almost a full minute, and giving up hope of them actually answering the door, the door did in fact open.
"Hello?"
~~~~~Recap Over~~~~~
I didn't exactly know what I was expecting, but whatever it was, it wasn't who opened the door.
The person who opened the door, was a large, motherly, middle aged woman with thick and wavy brown hair that was just starting to get a few grey hairs.
When her eyes found me they lit up, and she introduced herself quickly "I'm Mrs. Hunter, but you can call me Audrey" Surprisingly, Mrs. Hunter seemed happy that I was coming to stay. I wonder if anyone told her I was going to be staying for six months?
I realized that a small look of surprise had shown on my face, but I quickly hid it by looking down at the ground. "Hello, I'm Madeline James, and I guess you could call me Maddy?"
At that Mrs. Hunter pulled me into a hug, then pulling me into her home. I can honestly say this is a "home" not just a house.
I started to reach for my luggage, but she stopped me by saying,
"Don't worry about your luggage. I'll have one of the boys bring it up after dinner"
Mrs. Hunter walked forward a few steps farther into the entry way, then paused and turned back to me.
"You ready for the grand tour?", She asked.
I could only nod in response, and Mrs. H continued, gesturing at a door on my left.
"First door on your right is my husband's, Henry's, study." This time she looked to her left, my right.
"This is the formal dining room. We only eat here when we have a big occasion, like a family gathering or Christmas. Look beyond that, see those sofas and the coffee table? That's the formal sitting room. Again, only used for family get together and such."
I nodded quickly, and she walked back past the study, down a hallway, and into what I presume is the kitchen.
"And look! This is the kitchen, and the family table, where we usually eat."
I felt like all I needed was to nod and try to take all of this information in.
"Right, now follow me upstairs!"
We back track to the front entryway, then we go up the stairs to the second floor.
"You see, the boys sleep on the this floor,along with Henry and I. You'll be sleeping in the loft with Sammy."
Slowly walking up the stairs, Mrs. H and I walked into the loft, and I gasped. We stood in a huge room, with slanted ceilings, and the walls were all white.
There were two beds, and lots of windows. One of the beds had a blue quilt cover and lots of stuff near to it, so I'm assuming that that bed is taken. I went to go sit on the free bed, still a bit awestruck by the room.
Mrs. H cleared her throat, and said "Dinner'll be in fifteen minutes. Come down when I call okay?"
"I'll be down then..." There was a slight pause, then I continued "Thank you. Truely, thank you."
She smiled after I said the last bit. "It's no trouble at all dear, think nothing of it!" Then she quickly walked down the stairs to the kitchen, I presume.
After sitting for a minute, I decided to see what I could see out of the window. Out of the window, I noted that the Hunters had a huge backyard, and that there were some people playing football. About five, or six or so.
I wonder who those people are? As I was thinking through this question, Mrs. H's normally quiet voice took on a much higher decibel tone.
"Dinner!"
At that word all the players froze for a split second, then sprinted towards the house.
Sadly, I think that is my cue to go downstairs too.
Yay, I get to meet the rest of the family...

It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power.
