Chapter 12

Tobias POV
I don't know what got into me. But when Tris even talks about another guy, I fly into a rage that I didn't even know that I am capable of. Its ridiculous. What's there to fear? When she's already mine? I don't know.
"But I still can't believe my best friend would do that to me." I say. And Tris's face crumples a little.
"Well, I haven't really told anyone that you're my boyfriend. So Troye doesn't know." She says.
"Well, then you better go and tell him. He better back off." He says.
"Okay, okay. Gosh, I was planning to tell him tommorow." She says. "You're so jealous."
"No, I'm not." I say.
"Yeah, right." She says.

I wake up to my alarm screaming at me. I feel better about going to college now that I've had a taste of it. The lessons actually start today. Yesterday was just making friends, and some admin stuff. Anyway, gotta move on.

"Really? Don't worry about him. He can never win her over your looks." Yale says. His girlfriend, Maria, smiles at me. She is quite pretty but she's nothing compared to Tris. I told them about the conversation Tris and I had yesterday. And that's what he meant.
Honestly, I am scared. Out of my wits. You'd probably think I'm worked up over nothing. But that's just the way I am.

I love her more than anything. That's what scares me. What if she's taken away from me? And I'll have no one to love. And I'll be same old broken guy I used to be before I met her. Except, without the abuse. Broken beyond repair. I'll have no reason to live. I will just die.
I sigh.
This is going to be a long day.

I receive a call from Tris when I get home.
Me-Hey Tris, what's up?
Tris-Hey, Troye is here to meet you now.
Me- Omg! Really?
Tris-Yup. Better come soon.
Me-Be right there.
Wow, I am actually going to meet Troye.
I run over to the Priors' and press the doorbell.
Tris opens the door. Sitting in her couch was my long lost friend, Troye.
"Troye!" I yell in happiness.
"Oh my god! Tobias, is that you?" He looks at me in disbelief. "You've grown so much!"
"You too." I say.
"I'll bring us a snack and we will talk." Tris says and goes off to the kitchen. I sit beside him and he gives me a hug.
"So how's life buddy?" He asks."I mean, your dad and all.."
"Its great! He has gotten better and guess what? I found out that my mom wasn't actually dead." I say.
"Wow. Really?" He asks.
"Yup. She just ran away from home." I say.
"Okay. That's aside for now. You're a really good looking guy right now. Any girlfriends?" He asks.
"Oh, hasn't Tris told you yet?" I ask.
"Tell me what?" He asks.
"She is my girlfriend." I say, smiling triumphantly.
"She isn't single?!" He yells.
"Nope. I am her boyfriend." I say. And you better back off.
"Well..." He trails off. "Alright."
"The snack is ready!" Tris yells, coming from the kitchen.
"Tris, why didn't you tell him about us?" I ask.
"If only this guy'd let me talk..." She says and I chuckle.
Troye's POV
Wait, so Tris can't be mine right now? She is Tobias's girlfriend? I don't believe it. Why'd she want a guy like him? I mean, he's rough and rude and almost never talks to anyone. What did she find in him?
I don't know.
But I will get her. She will be mine soon. You just wait Tobias.
Back to Tobias's POV
I finally told him. And the look on his face is a mix between jealousy and sadness. Ha! Take that, sucker!
Only one thought runs in my mind.
He better back off. Tris is mine.
