Chapter 21

More Tris POV...
Skip to Tobias's birthday.
I wake up, eager to face what is coming today. I have to look good today for him. I pick out a turquoise-blue knee length dress and hop in the shower.
Once I am finished, I dry my hair. I put on the dress. I put on a bit of make up and run down to the Eaton's. When Evelyn opens the door, she smiles.
"Tobias is still sleeping." She says. I go to his bedroom. I am greeted by the beautiful sight of Tobias, sleeping on his bed. He looks so peaceful. I sit beside him and ruffle his hair.
"Wake up, sleepyhead." I whisper, smiling. I kiss his forehead, his nose, his well-defined cheeks and finally his lips. He smiles, with his eyes still closed, sleepy. He stirs a little before opening his ocean blue eyes.
He looks at me like I am a dream.
"Tris?" He mumbles, with his deep and husky voice. "Wow, beautiful."
While he brushes his teeth, I go down to see what's for breakfast.
"I made his favorite. Chocolate pancakes with syrup." She says. (I know that's a weird combination.)
"Mmm. Delicious." I say. I sit down on one of the chairs. That's when Tobias comes down.
"What's so special today?" He asks. OMG! He forgot his own birthday?!
But I decide to keep it that way.
"Well, nothing really. We haven't been spending much time together. So why don't we have today for us?" I say.
"Good idea!" He says. Evelyn looks at me, confused. I wink at her. She gets the signal and nods. He looks at breakfast.
"My favorite!" He exclaims. He gobbles up his breakfast and goes to get ready. I already got him new clothes for him to change in the evening. So clothes won't be a problem.
"Let's go!" He says, excited. This is gonna be interesting.

That was fun. We spent the whole day doing all his favorite stuff. We went to the Arcade for video games. Next we went to the movies. And then we went to get ice-cream. And many more. And now I am driving him in my Volvo to my house to get him to change. I want to freshen up as well.
"Come on. Change into these." I tell him.
"Huh? Why?" He asks.
"Just change." I say and push him into one of the free rooms in our house. I go and wash my face and put on make up again. I go down to wait for him. I bought him a fancy shirt and jeans of his favorite color and brand.
"These are awesome!" He exclaims. He picks me up twirls me around. I squeal.
"What is so special today?" He says.
"You'll find out." I say.
"Okay." He says. Now is the time.
As for his Ferrari, its already in the park. The keys are in the purse I am holding.
"Come on, we're going somewhere." I say. I drive him to the park.
"OMG! This is my favorite park. I used to come here with Evelyn when I was young." He says.
"I know." I say.
"How?" He asks.
"She told me." I say.
I drag him to the lake in the park. Where everyone is hiding. The cake is behind one of the bushes.
"Everyone! You can come out now!" I shout. He looks at me confused. I grab the cake. His parents, my parents, all our friends, including our high school friends, except Troye, jumps out of the bushes. Together we all shout.
"Surprise! Happy birthday, Tobias!"
I hold the cake in front of him. Its a chocolate cake that says, 'Happy Birthday, Tobias Eaton!" In white icing. I put the cake on the table in front of him.
He just stands there, looking speechless.
"I-i...don't know.. I-i..what to s-say.." He stutters, not making sense.
"I can't believe you forgot your birthday!" I say, laughing.
"Time to cut the cake!" Yale, one of Tobias's friends, shouts. Everyone laugh.
Tobias blows out the candles and cuts the cake, while we sing the birthday song for him.
"Tris, I don't deserve this." He says.
"You deserve this and more, for being such an amazing boyfriend to me." I say. After eating the cake, I say.
"Okay, its time for presents! I go last."
After everyone finishes, its my turn.
"Its your turn, Tris. What have you got for me?" Tobias asks, eager. I hand him the car keys, which has a ribbon on it.
"A key to what?" He asks, confused.
I signal to my dad, he ties the blindfold over Tobias's eyes.
"Tris?" He says. I take his hand and lead him to the hiding spot where the car is.
Everyone gasps. Excluding my parents.
"What? What is it?" Tobias asks, worried.
I take the blindfold off his eyes. He looks at the car.
"Wow! A Ferrari. I've always wanted one of those! What's it for?" He asks. Oh my god! How stupid can he be? He still hasn't realized it his present from me!
"Well, what if I say this car is yours?" I ask.
"What?" He asks. He looks at the keys. Realization dawns on him and his eyes widen in surprise.
"This is my birthday present from you?!" He asks.
"Yup." I say.
"I really don't know what to say." He says.
"You don't have to say anything. Take me for a drive." I say. "While everyone parties here."
I get on the passenger seat. He gets in the driver's seat,looking around.
"I can't believe this goddess is mine!" He says. He kisses me very hard, while his hand trails up my thigh. I grip his hair, while he pushes me against the side window.
He pulls away and looks at me.
"You're the best girlfriend any guy can ever get. I am the luckiest man in the world to have you." He says. While I blush. "Come on, let's drive."
