Louis Tambo sat in front of the fireplace drinking  a large glass of blood. He stared intently into the flames.

Another night going by, that he has to contain what he feels, because of his little brother.

He took another swig without looking away from the flames.

The large mansion’s door flew open, but Louis didn’t bother to close it.

A few minutes ticked by, and a wind was blowing in. Vampires couldn’t really feel different temperatures, but the open door was beginning to annoy him.

As he stood up, something pushed him down.

At first, he looked confused, but then he stood up again, and the same thing happened.

‘I just wanna close the damn door!’ he yelled into the air.

‘Well I just wanna have some fun.’ Ruby said sarcastically.

Louis gaped. The woman he’d spent 142 years loving, was standing in front of him.

‘Ruby! I thought I’d never see you again!’ without thinking, Louis threw his arms around Ruby’s neck.

Ruby was taken aback, but she patted him on the back.

Then she pulled away.

‘Where’s Ian?’ she asked skeptically.

‘I don’t know. Out with Marney.’ Louis replied and then flung himself down on a chair.

‘Out with who?’ she asked, her voice broke on the word “who”.

‘Marney. His girlfriend.’ Louis said slowly.

‘Oh.’ Ruby muttered under her breath.

‘Yeah.’ Louis muttered.

He looked up from the blazing flames to have a long conversation with Ruby, but she was long gone.

When I came out of the shower on Sunday evening I found Ian lying on my bed, looking straight at me.

Of course I got a fright. I was only wearing a towel for god sake.

‘My dad let you up here?’ I asked hurrying to hide behind the closet door.

‘I came in through the window. Are you okay with that?’ he asked, hopping off the bed, walking towards the closet.

‘Stay right there!’ I said holding my one hand up to indicate “stop” and the other was holding my towel to cover my body.

‘Okay, sheriff.’ He said backing away.

‘Oh my god! If my dad walks in here right here now! He’ll skin both of us alive!’ I yelled at him.

‘I have vampire speed. I can run away before you can blink.’ He grinned.

‘Well then vampire speed yourself away until I’m done.’ I slammed the closet door and then sunk to the floor. My life was amazing.

I stood up, looking in the drawers for fancy underwear. I found none. Oh my god, why did I have to be such a reject?

I just flung on anything with lace, and then I looked for appealing pajamas. Yet again I was disappointed.

I put on my usual grey sweats and a long fluffy, warm, white shirt.

I opened the door slowly and walked out with the towel in my hand.

‘You didn’t leave?’ I asked astonished.

‘I waited for you, Marney.’ He said grabbing me in closer and kissing me gently.
