Chapter 4
"The Chase Begins"

Koga ran as fast as he possibly could with the jewel shards in his legs. He could feel the muscles in his legs getting weak but he ignored it all. The pain he felt then, was nothing compared to the pain Naraku would put Luna through if he got to her first.

That's what kept Koga going.

The thought of anything happening to his sister. Again.

Koga was able to just barely keep Naraku in his sights, Luna and Risk were to fast for him to keep up with them, but if he kept on Naraku's tail, then he would be able to find Luna.

Just them, Naraku vanished, just vanished out of thin air.

Koga came to a sudden stop and looked around. The adrenaline flowing through his blood stream kept him from feeling the pain his feet felt.

Where the hell is he?

Koga growled and then jumped up onto a high enough tree branch, that he could see the entire forest. He looked around frantically and then heard, what he thought to be Thunder.

What the..? He looked up at the sky and saw the dark clouds light up at various moments when he also heard the thunder.

Koga looked closer and could swear, that he had caught a glimpse, if Naraku and Luna fighting.

His suspicions were proven correct when he saw what he didn't expect.

Naraku, being thrown down into the ground, by a lightning bolt. Then, he saw Luna fly down on a thunder cloud. She was holding a spear made of pure, white lightning.

She threw it and it struck right next to Naraku's head.

Naraku froze for a moment then chuckled as he disappeared and reappeared right behind Luna. Her eyes widened as she realized he was there. Risk moved and she faced Naraku who had an evil smirk on his face.

Luna growled lowly and Koga watched with clenched fists. He growled, not able to stand watching what was about to happen.

Naraku and Luna began a full on brawl. Luna began to strike Naraku with lightning and he managed to block them and when he attacked, she blocked it and shocked him.

Koga watched as the two became a blur of black and white. Launching at eachother, like two lions fighting for the same wildebeest.

After a bit, Naraku had had enough of playing games. He finally put up his barrier, and moved as a blur around the wolf girl. Luna looked around frantically, trying to keep Naraku in her sights, she knew if she didn't, she would surely be caught off guard.

Stay calm, he can't get you if you stay focused.. She thought to herself as she kept an eye on the blur called Naraku. Finally, Naraku stopped right behind risk, which scared him so he took off without Luna knowing.

She almost fell off Risk but managed to stay on the back of the giant horse.

Naraku laughed evilly as he raced after the horse.
*******

Koga realized they were on the move and took off running. Don't worry sis, I'm on my way.

He took off as fast as he was earlier. Even if he couldn't entirely catch up, it was enough to keep them in sight. Which was good enough for him. If he could keep them in his sights, he would be able to help Luna out when she needed him most.

Then suddenly, They came to a stop, a normal stop, right in the center of the sky. Koga stopped as well and watched perplexed by what was happening.
********

Luna was holding on for dear life as Risk picked up his speed. She knew she had to come up with a plan before Naraku caught up with them. She glanced back at the demon that was still following.

She sighed and looked forward as she held on to her horse demon. Then she realized something she could do. She whispered something calming to Risk who slowly slowed down and stopped in the middle of the sky.

She patted him gently and he turned to face Naraku, who had stopped as well, just a few meters away.

Naraku still had that wicked smirk on his demon like face. I want to wipe that smirk off of his face to badly. Okay Luna, stay calm, you got this. Just stick to your plan.

She took a deep breath and slowly looked at Naraku, with lightning bolts in her eyes. Seeing the lightning bolts ticked Naraku's interest in what she had to say. Because Luna only ever put those bolts in her eyes when she was being extremely serious.

"Naraku! I know this is what you really want," Luna took out the Sacred Jewel and held it in her palm. "Isn't it?"

Naraku's smirk widened. "Ah yes, you've finally figured it out." Luna rolled her eyes, "Well, how about this, I'll give you this jewel, over one condition,"

Naraku raised an eyebrow to that ending. "And what exactly would that be?"

Luna glanced at her brother that she knew was watching on the ground and then back at Naraku. Naraku knew what she meant and nodded with that Demonic smirk on his evil face. "Do we have a deal?" Luna spoke clearly.

Naraku slowly nodded. "Yes, we do have A deal." Luna nodded and, to Koga's surprise, she actually tossed Naraku the Sacred Jewel.

What the hell is she doing?!?
Koga thought to himself as he watched in confusion.

Naraku caught it with ease and looked at it, then at Luna. "Such a shame really, you really were one of my best sergeants.." He licked his lips and smirked as he disappeared into no where.

The clouds disapated to show the clear sky that had been hidden behind the darkness.

Luna's eye returned to normal and she took in a deep breath. Then, she passed out from pure exhaustion, and she fell, straight to the ground.

Risk whinnied loudly and tried to catch her but couldn't. Koga's eyes widened as he ran and manages to catch here in his arms, just before she hit the ground. He sighed in relief and looked at his sister, he could see, in that very moment, just how much she had been through. He never realized it before, but he understood. Though, he didn't understand what Naraku had meant, he was very confused. So many questions built up in his mind.

How did Naraku manage to get Luna under his control? Why would she allow him to do so? What did he mean when he licked his lips? Whatever the answers they don't matter right now. What matters right now is gettin Luna to safety.

Koga carefully held Luna and managed to get her on his back. He began walking back to everyone else, and risk had landed and walked beside them.

Koga looked at the horse and nodded in gratitude for him saving his sister for so long.

Risk nodded back in a horse way, as they walked for a while. Koga's legs were ready to give out but, it's funny, he didn't even feel the pain, it was as if all the pain. Had dissapeared.

The sun shining through the tree's canopy, and him having his sister win him. Put a small, joyful smile on Koga's wolffish features. He rarely smiled, but this was one of the special moments that doesn't happen very often.

The time, when he could actually feel happiness. And not grief, sadness, anger, or any other negative emotions.

Just positive ones...
