Chapter 5
Its been a couple of days since Logan was at my house.
My parents don't know about it, and I know I said it wouldn't be a big deal if they knew.. well.. that was a lie. They would literally hang me on the washing line, and leave me there to die if they found out.
At school we exchange our smiles but don't speak to each other. I think that's our small secret way of communicating, through our lips. Me and Saffron have noticed he's become acquaintances with Lloyd Berry. He's a nice kid, I have nothing to dislike about him so I see no reason why they wouldn't get along.
I haven't mentioned that night to Saffron, and I don't think I will. She is my best friend, no doubt about that, but I have a feeling she likes him and that would hurt her. She talks to Logan quite a bit, but I can't help notice that she looks like she's forcing herself on to him.
"Have you ever wondered about his background" Saffron was asking me. We were in the cafeteria eating our lunch. "Who's Background?" I looked at her. She was gazing into the distance somewhere behind me. I turned around, and she was gazing not into the distance but Logan. "Well if it isn't who I think it is, I'd say your love sick" I teased smiling. "I am not. Just curious that's all"
I remembered the evening he was in my living room, and suddenly stopped talking about his home. I turned around again in my chair to get a quick glimpse of him. He was chatting and laughing, you wouldn't of thought there was any problems with him or his family.
"Why don't you go over and ask him Saff?" I asked my best friend.
"Crystal are you joking? You can't just walk up to someone and ask 'how's your mum.. what day did she give birth to you?'" I giggled to her reply
"A normal person would start of a conversation with HI, but your clearly not normal" As both of us were grinning, he miraculously walked past us leaving the cafeteria. "Missed your chance, maybe next time"
"Actually I'm going to take all the chances i've got" she stood up and followed after him. That girl was many things, making the effort to speak about his background really was strange. As She left me on my own with my ham sandwich, I started to feel something. I was pretty sure it was jealousy, but why would I be jealous that she's gone to Logan? Hormones these days.
# I would like to base the part where Logan walks past when they'd just been talking about him, on a scenario I've repeatedly faced at school with two of my friends. (Rume you know who I'm talking about;)
