Draco walked into the Great Hall for breakfast the next morning and instinctively looked at the Ravenclaw table. Hermione hadn't arrived yet.

Harry came up behind him and said, "Sorry to break it to you, bud, but you ought to give up in her. You've been chasing her for years and you've had no luck."

Draco grinned and said, "Yeah, no luck."

Draco was walking through the door into the Transfiguration class when Hermione rushed past him and dropped a ripped piece of parchment. He picked it up and opened it. It read:

HI!
I need to talk to you!
Are you free tonight?
[]Yes []No
If YES, meet me outside
of the Room of Requirement
P.S. Just hand this back to me and
say 'hey you dropped this' or
something
-H.

Quickly, Draco put an 'X' in the 'Yes' box and handed the note back to his crush. No, girlfriend.

Later, that evening, Draco was running a bit behind. He had to think of an excuse to wriggle out of a conversation with Harry without telling him what was really going on. When he finally got to the Room of Requirement, Hermione was there waiting for him. No one else was in sight.

"I'm so sorry I'm late!" Draco blurted.

"Don't worry about it, I only just showed up," Hermione replied.

"So what was so important?" asked Draco.

"Nothing. I just wamted to hang out with you."

Draco tried not to blush at this.

Hermione came up close to him so that she could wrap her arms around him amd hold her hands behind his back. She smiled up at him. He smiled back as he wrapped his arms arounds her.

"You know," Draco said. "You are very beautiful."

Hermione blushed slightly as she lay her head down on his chest. Draco rested his chin on the top of her head.

"You're hair smells nice," Draco complemented.

"Thanks."

The two of them stood there for a while, cuddling each other. For so long, they had longed for this. To feel the other person's skin. To be enveloped by their smell. Neither one of them wanted it to end.

Hermione lifted her head and gazed up at the blonde boy she had her arms around. She went up on her toes, closed her eyes, and leaned in just enough so that her lips touched his.

Draco lifted up one of his hands so that it was on the back of her head, with her curly brown hair in between his fingers. He pushed his mouth slightly more into hers, but not too much. His tongue just barely touched the edges of her lips, the tips of her teeth.

The two of them stood there for a while, holding one another and kissing each other's lips.

Without explanation, Hermione pushed herself away from Draco and was trying to hide her face. He looked at her confused for a second before he realized why she was acting like this.

Draco turned around to see Lacy, one of Hermione's friends.

God damn it, nobody was supposed to know.
