Chapter 2- Intruder

CHAPTER 2

(Ariella's pov)                                                                                                                                                                 

Kay my name is Ariella, but I prefer just Ari, I'm a werecat or something of the like. I'm part cat part human but I usually hide my feline parts, so I can live like a normal, whatever.

My day started like any other day really, wake up, eat breakfast out a bowl and drink a large glass of milk, say a quick few words to my mom and then get ready for school. Somehow I felt as if something bad was gonna happen though.

I felt it from my kitty ears to the very end of my kitty tail, and my tail was bushed up to make a point.

"Ari what are you doing?" Ah that would be my mom Marron, and no that is her real name. I let go of the curtains and dropped to the ground, using my awesome catyness to land on just my feet. "Um climbing?" I answered sheepishly, not looking her in the eyes. "Up my high priced curtains?" she growled at me, my ears went flat against my head and I looked at the ground in shame "sorry mama" I apologized looking up at her through my raven hair, my eyes big and the pupils dilated twice their normal size. an no I don't take drugs, it's just that I'm like that cat from Shrek ----the one that wears boots and a hat. Mom glared at me for 1...2...3...4...5...6...7.......9.........10................14 seconds, a record in my count.    She sighed brushing a hand through her messy not of hair, her face showing signs of stress and little sleep.

"It's fine, just go eat before you’re late for school" She muttered,

          "Thanks mom, I love you."       "I made pancakes with syrup, and chocolate spread." And at those words I felt like I must have died and gone to heaven, cause there was nothing, and I mean nothing better then mom's pancakes. Well apart from chocolate pie with cream, or strawberry cheese cake, or ice cream with hot chocolate brown .... ok I think you kina get the point, anyway I felt like screaming but instead I was mentally jumping for joy.

"OH MY GOD. Did I mention that I love you mama?" Okay so maybe I did do a little screaming. Just a little though.

"Yes, you did, and why are you jumping around like a kangaroo?"

"Oops. He he, well I'll just go eat then. bye" I stopped jumping (which I didn't even know I was doing. I swear) and went to hunt for my plate of deliciousness, in the kitchen.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX WAY LATER IN THE DAY. WHEN BACK FROM SCHOOL XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

I walked into the house, already having taken off my shoes in the porch. Mom was probably home, which wasn't good, cause when she see's the C minus on my paper she'll kill me, like cut me up and feed me to the next doors cat --- that cats a damn cannibal I'm telling you, it's always looking at me with this hungry look, like how I look at a fish. poor fishy I understand your feelings now !_! .

"I'm home" I muttered to myself dropping my school bag on the sofa, with my hat that was hiding my cat ears.

Straight after my ears where free I herd noises like fighting coming from upstairs,  I got to the stairs just in time to see a figure running towards my bedroom, and my mom on the floor. I ran into mine and Aiden’s room hoping to catch the person who broke in, only to see them crash through the big window, and roll when they hit the ground, getting to their feet and run off.

"A - Ari." 'Mom'  I thought my heart panicking, she was lying in the same position, but, I noticed there was blood pooling round her head, and her eyes where getting more unfocused. "Oh god. Mom, I need to call you an ambulance." I said my hands trembling to get my phone out my pocket.

"Ari" I looked at my mom hoping she wouldn't see the fear in my eyes, "mom don't worry, you’re gonna be fine" I tried to reassure her, though I think I was really trying to reassure myself more. "Ari. Listen."  "What is it mom?" I asked as I tried for the third time to put in the number without making a mistake, I think I heard some knocking at the front door but maybe not. Mom's eyes fluttered shut for a second --- making my heart nearly stop --- and then open again, "The girl who was here" her face was getting paler and her breathing was rough. "She - she took a - a silver case ........... " she was panting and wheezing now "Mom? shush. don't talk." My voice shook with unshed tears

"The case ... Ari, it has vials in it, that could endanger people. get it Ari" I looked at her in confusion "where is it?".  I got the number in for the ambulance and it was ringing, but it was so slow, and I was getting more and more panicked that she wasn't going to make it. "The vials will be ... on their way too - to the government. Ari be careful. I need you to know, when I'm gone, I always loved you an ---" "no mom, you’re going to be fine, you’re not going anywhere but to the hospital" I cried but the phone hadn't picked up yet and I could hear mom's heart slowing rapidly.

Moms hand came up to wipe some of the tears that streamed down my face "you and Adian where the best thing that ever happened to me" she took a long laboured breath. "Tell Adian I - I lov ----" her heart stopped and her hand that had stayed on my face fell limply to the floor, her eyes stared up at me blankly, not seeing. I cried loudly then, tears flooding down my face. She was dead. That thief killed her. That last thought woke me up as I felt a hot rage go through me, I screamed. I wanted revenge, and I was gonna get it. I stood up my whole body vibrating with my anger. "Hello, this is 911 how may we help you?" I ignored the phone on the floor as I grabbed my hat, and mom's wallet, and walked out the door
