Chapter 5

Ugh, waking up is still a pain in this world huh. The morning sunlight poured through my window waking me up from my slumber. In my haste to fall asleep last night I forgot to close the blinds and now facing the consequences for that minor action. I got up, washed and went down to eat breakfast when a question popped into my head.
[ Enza, when I go to sleep, what do you do?]
- Enza
[ That's easy! I either stay up all night or I just "turn off" depending on what I feel like doing. Now, before you ask, "turning off" is necessary for us but we do not have to do it as often as you, the players do. If I do not turn off for a long period of time, my properties may not function accordingly]
[ That's cool, I hope the breakfast here isn't as bad as the potions I had yesterday.]
When I arrived at the dining area, I quickly noticed that I was the only person down here at this time. I called for the waiter and a girl I didn't see yesterday appeared from the back of the dining area. She wasn't extremely tall but just a tiny bit taller than me, her blonde hair swept from side to side perfectly but there was one defining characteristic about her, her pointed ears. I was a bit surprised at this but regained my composure in time for her to take my order. After she left I talked to Enza about my newfound discovery.
[ Enza, there are Elves in this game!! Damn that's awesome! I wonder if there are more races such as ogres or goblins or something! This changes everything! With different races, they must have different techniques to fighting and knowledge that only they would have. I can't wait to start exploring this new world!]
[ Hold your horses cowboy. Yes there are other races but be careful, I have a bit of information on a few races such as elves, humans, and cyclops but it seems that most of the information I had was lost during the memory wipe. They may not be on friendly terms with humans so keep your distance from them unless you are absolutely sure it's safe.]
When the waiter came back to retrieve my dishes, I asked her a few questions. " What's your name?", I asked. "My name is Alextra" was the reply. " Do you have a bit of time to talk with me? I have a few questions about this world." I asked politely. " Of course I have time it's not like there's a crowd of people down here anyway." Was her response. She sat down in front of me and looked me straight in the eyes which made me feel a bit uncomfortable at first but I got used to it. "So, what is the relationship between humans and elves?" I asked. "The relationship is one of friendship, our peoples have worked together ever since the great chasm appeared in Nebrat." She said. " Are there any elf villages or towns nearby? I want to visit one as soon as possible to learn anything they have to offer." I said enthusiastically. " There is one nearby but it is facing an onslaught of attacks from nearby monster camps." She said with a depressed tone. " It is my hometown of Kelfa, they are in need of help but because of this new event ( referring to the players coming) all other nearby villages have also been experiencing increasing difficulties with monsters." She looks at me and I notice a glimmer of something in her eyes. " Please help us! It would mean so much to us! We don't have a lot of money but we do have some techniques and items that may help you in your journey!" She said this enthusiastically and I was taken aback for a moment. " You are the only sane Avatar here. All the others were sulking around and drinking liquor as if they were going to die soon but you just calmly asked for a room, and even came down early for breakfast. Please help my village I beg of you!" She said in a distressed yet hopeful tone. "Hmmm. Well I have nothing better to do sooo I will help your village ou- "THANK YOU SO MUCH" was her interrupting reply as she jumped up and embraced me tightly. "Agh, just lead the way and I'll follow you." Was my reply. She quickly let go with tears in her eyes and wiped her eyes using the cuff of her sleeve. " Alright let's go... Uhh I don't know your name, you asked for mine but I forgot to ask yours" She said giving a small laugh. " Oh yeah, I didn't tell you mine did I, my name is Lenous but you can call me Len. It's nice to meet someone like you in this new world. " I said as we walked out of the inn.
