John's POV

After Professor Broom told Adelaide and I he was dying he told me something else, something he wanted me to do for him. Once Adelaide left the room, he ordered me to go find a girl, Elizabeth Sherman, and bring her back to the Bureau.

After later researching her, she's been in the Bureau before, 13 times to be exact. She looks normal, but has a secret. Apparently some kind of anger issues fire starter. I found a picture of her in her file. She looked sad, or maybe angry. She had jet black, straight, hair and bangs. She was very fair and had dark eyes. I wasn't sure why Broom wanted me to bring her back, she was currently living in a mental hospital.

While Red took Adelaide and a team of agents down into the subway tunnels I went to re-recruit Elizabeth Sherman.

When I finally got her to agree to come back, with the promise of freedom she didn't have at Bellamie Hospital, we hopped in a taxi. On the way she kept hanging out the window, taking pictures on her polaroid.

"Uh, you know, that's not safe Miss. Sherman. Could you please stay in the car?" I said. She snapped a picture of me, the sound of the flash filling the cab. She handed me the photo and stuck half her body out of the cab. Her arms rested on the roof of the cab, her hair blowing in the cool fall wind.

"No, no. Miss Sherman- Please, can you come down, Miss Sherman?" I said again. I

sighed as she ignored me. I looked at the picture she snapped of me and smiled. I stuck my body out of the cab and joined her on the roof.

"Hey, nice view." I said waving. She smiled. 'Hey, a smile, huh?" I teased. She rolled her eyes and smiled. "Hey, here." I said, reaching over the top of cab to hand her the picture she took of me. Somewhere in the exchange, the wind blew and the photo flew off into the streets.

"You'll have to take another one later." I flirted. She smiled and nodded, "Yeah." That really was a smile I could get used to, her dark mysterious eyes holding secrets I wanted to discover.

Adelaide's POV

After we got an ambulance for Clay we went back to the entrance to find Maury and Ross dead. We found Abe injured with huge gashes across his blue chest. We got him back to the Bureau and hooked him up to his machines, that I really didn't understand. They were supposed to track his heart rate and monitor his injuries while giving him time to heal.

Tom Manning entered the room while Red and I were keeping an eye on Abe.

"He'll make it," Tom said, while puffing his cigar. "Not everyone was so lucky. We had two agents die today. Clay probably won't survive the night." I hung my head low, Clay's blood still covered my clothes from where we tried to stop his stab wounds from bleeding.

"Not now, Manning." Red said, I could hear the hurt in his voice. Clay was his friend, and I don't think he was prepared to lose him today.

"My problem with you..." he sighed, "you're reckless. These men trusted you to lead them as a team." He puffed his cigar casually again. "Where were you?" He asked.

"I knew those men better than you did." Red argued, still hurt.

"Oh, I see. That makes it all right then." Tom said rudely. I wasn't used to seeing this side of him, and frankly it disgusted me. Red was hurting and he was trying to make him out to be the bad guy.

"No, it doesn't make it alright, but I stopped that thing didn't I?" Red said, standing up for himself.

"Yes, you did. That's what you do. That's why we need you. You have an insight, you know monsters." Tom said. Red looked at him confused and took a step closer to him.
