He was so much fun to joke around with. Other people are so serious.
He rolled his eyes and laughed. "I would tell you a pun about it but I think you'd make fun of me," he said.
"Probably," I said. He pulled the sleeves of his sweater over his hands.
"So, you're pretty cool," he said, pausing to look at me. I choked. What is happening right now? My cheeks colored. "And I kind of avoided talking to you for a while because you seem, like, unapproachable I guess," he said. He looked down and bit his lip. He is so adorable. Like a little puppy you just wanna- "Winking at you took so much courage," he smiled at himself, "and you would just look away." What?
He put his hand on his chest and wiped away a fake tear. Goofball. "So, then you were in my room and I just had to talk to you." His voice was getting louder. He was really getting into this. "And you talked back to me! And we didn't talk about much but it was nice. And then I wanted to talk to you at lunch but instead I sat...on your phone," he looked at me and chuckled. "And then I put my number in your phone, hoping you would text me. But you didn't. Once again, just making me sad." He wiped away another fake tear, smiling.
"So, I got home today while you guys were still cleaning. But you were in my room playing my guitar. I stayed on the outside and just listened." He listened to me play? He raised his eyebrows, and nodded to me, "Good song, by the way. And I just knew that I had to get to know you better. I can't believe you let me come over though," he said. Why is he telling me this?
"Me neither, my mom will kill me if she finds out," I said. He had never talked to me because I was unapproachable? Maybe that's why a lot of people don't talk to me. I wish I could change that.
I put my hand on his shoulder. He was so warm. He looked me in the eyes, and I got a bubble in my throat. "I like talking to you too, Christian." I gave him an encouraging smile. "I thought you hated me before because you talked to every girl except for me. You are great. And funny. And you're cute. And I love your mus-" Oh, no I've said it now.
"YOU'VE LISTENED TO MY MUSIC? OMG," he wrapped his arms around me and squeazed. I squeaked. He gives good hugs. I hugged him back. He smelled like boys should smell. Masculine, clean, and safe. I could feel his soft hair on the side of my face. I wish we could stay like this forever. But he pulled away and put his hands on my shoulders. He shook me a little. He white teeth gleamed from his big smile. His lips were so pink and his skin so soft looking. He shook me again, bringing me back to reality.
"AND YOU LIKED IT?" Christian asked, delighted.
"Well, yeah! It's awesome, I was so impressed with you, my goodness I listen to it all the time actually," I said. I looked down at my lap embarrassed.
"Thank you so much," he said, genuinely. His green eyes searched my blue ones. "Wanna hear a joke?" he said, bring his lips into a smirk.
"Sure," I sighed, trying to mock him.
