Facts: She has one older sister, Shon/Son Sueng-hee. Her family lived in Jechaon before Wendy moved to Canada in her fifth year of elementary school to study abroad and started using her english name, Wendy Shon. Her parents moved to Canada two years later. In middle school, Wendy attended Shattuck-Saint Mary's in Faribault, Minnesota in the United States. She was an honor student, and earned various awards for academics and music-related activities during her stay there. She later studied at Richmond Hill High School in Ontario, where she became a member of the school choir. Wendy has stated that her passion for music comes form her parents who are both music lovers. She is also able to play different instruments such as piano, guitar, flute, and saxophone.
