When Red Velvet was feeling anxious about their debut, SM's main director (founder) Lee Sooman gave them words of encouragement. [Their] leader Irene explained, "Teacher Lee told us to enjoy the stage as much as possible. Since we are rookies, and being a newbie is one of the most important times in a singer's lifetime, teacher advised us to be confident and proud on stage.This is why we try to be positive every time we go on stage."
