He couldn't sleep that night, not after that failure. He had a big, fat chance in his hands, and he had decided just throw it away like that. It was the greatest mistake he had ever made in his career as a Templar.

Speaking of which, he was also out-numbered 2 to 1. He had recently learnt Alsoomese was on Garett's side from eavesdropping on their conversation while he was toiling away in the farm just the previous day. He wasn't deaf, they should know that.

He sat up on his bed, as soon as he heard footsteps outside his door.

Of course, it could be none other than Garett, who just so happened to open his door.

"Well, German's up early, come, I've things for 'ou to do,"

Gerhard felt cold at his instructions. He got up stiffly and obediently followed suit. Did he even know what happened last night? He almost died to him, and yet... he seems as if he didn't know a single thing. The ghostly feelings of the blade still lingered in his hands.

Garett had led him into the living room. He passed him a feather dusty and a broom He was given a simple but rather down - grading job, clean the house.

First the plots, now the house.

He got to work. Going for the bookshelves first, he did a quick brush across the books, only to sent billows of dust into the air. Gerhard coughed and wheezed as he abruptly stepped back from the antique shelves.

"Just how long has this gone uncleaned?!"

Alsoomese was smirking at the corner, apparantly mocking him in his state.

He felt like strangling her.

He held back however and continued brushing, with - holding every single thought of violence against her as she continued observing him with that sly smile on her face.

Days went on like this, from farm work to house chores. Life was great.

He stepped into the familiar interiors of the house now, spent from working himself out for the whole day in the farm, harvesting the crops and mostly doing dirty work.

He entered his room, only to notice Garett beside his bed, looking out of the window, deep in thought.

Gerhard wanted to snap at him to get out, but remained silent as the rugged man turned to look at him.

"Ya 'kno, I'm quite happy with yer work here," He started, Gerhard at the meantime was lost at his words. Where is he going?

"The work ya do 'ere, it's a great job," He walked closer to Gerhard, their faces barely inches away. Gerhard could feel their breaths hitting each other's faces from the uncomfortably close diatance.

"I knew the night ya tried to kill me,"
