"I don't have to go, ya know. I can stay. Sam will be fine without me."
Dean explained to you for the umpteenth time. By now you were only rolling your eyes at him.
"Go. Sam sounded urgent. Since you stopped hunting he never ever asked you to join him, so I'm more than sure that he desperately needs your help."
A 'momma' next to you made you prick up your ears.
Time has passed by so fast and now yours and Dean's son was now seven months old. He just recently said his first word 'momma', which earned you twenty bucks from the bet you had with Dean about the first word. Of course your hsband was thrilled but you knew him too well, which was why you noticed a hint of disappointment in his eyes.
"See, even Henry agrees with me."
You gathered him up n your arms and stood up straight, balancing Henry on your hip. Until now you had been sitting on the floor while you played with your son. During that Dean had packed his duffel bag and was now about to leave in order to meet Sam at the West Coast.
Dean let out a sigh and shoulder his bag. You and Henry walked him to the Impala, where he snuggled with his son for a moment before kissing you and giving you a tight hug. Through his behavior you could tell how unwillingly he wanted to leave you and Henry behind.
Intending to be the strong one and making it easier for Dean to go, you threw him an encouraging smile.
When he got in the car and drove off, you stood there with Henry waving goodbye until the car was out of sight. Only then did a tear roll down your cheek. You couldn't stop the worry from entering your body. The only reason you made Dean joining his brother with this hunt was because Sam had never called before. He wanted his brother as much out of the hunting life as you wanted him to be out.
A small hand touched your cheek, were only a moment ago the tear was running down. You turned your head towards your son and grinned.
"Should we play some more?"
As you walked back to his toys you placed a gentle kiss to the top of his head where his hair grew longer by the day.

Bobby had intended to come and visit you that weekend, so the next day after Dean had left for the hunt, your father sure stood in front of the bunker's door with a huge grin plastered on his face.
"Hey sweetheart. How are you? Where's my grandson?"
You smiled at him, as you pulled him into a hug.
He had been a little shy around Henry at first, being afraid of doing something wrong and hurting him, but that quickly changed. Now he wanted to spend as much time with Henry as possible, mostly holding him.
"Henry's in his baby crib napping."
You let your dad inside and the two of you walked into the living room after he stowed his bags in his room.
"So, you heard anything from Dean?"
Bobby started up a conversation with the topic you tried not to think about. Dean had called earlier, when he arrived at the motel Sam was staying in. He had told you that there were two Djnns in the small town and since Garth was somewhere on the East Coast hunting a crossroad demon and no other hunter was close byclose by, so he needed Dean for backup, otherwise he might have ended up as the Djinns' dinner.
A sigh escaped your lips before you answered.
"He called earlier and told me about the Djinns. They are now making up a plan on how they will kill it."
