Cai imagines what would happen if he made a run for it. If he turned on his heel and made a break for it, leaving Park to explain to an annoyingly smug Olivia and an extremely confused Quinn what they'd just witnessed. He could go home, climb into bed and attempt to forget the whole thing. Maybe he could convince his family to go home early, and he'd never have to speak of this again.

But any desire to run completely leaves him when he sees how utterly terrified Park looks, eyes wide and staring at Olivia. He could never leave him -- which is both exciting and absolutely god damn terrifying at the same time.

"Park you'd better start talking, I told your mother I'd only be a minute. I'm guessing you don't want her to come looking for you guys, right? She probably wouldn't appreciate this whole situation, would she, P --"

"Shut the fuck up." The words are out of his mouth before he even realizing he's saying them, taking a step in front of Park in case he needs to defend him. Despite how incredibly tiny Olivia is, he bets she can still put up one hell of a fight.

Her green eyes widen before she's barking out a laugh. "Holy shit, do you think I'm gonna attack him? He's my best friend you absolute twat," She spits back at him, her arms crossed tightly across her chest.

"Olivia, stop it." Park speaks up for the first time, fixing the girl with a glare.

"You're kidding me right, Park? I'm not trying to be a bitch --" Cai snorts, earning a glare from the girl. "I'm trying to protect you, you idiot. What the hell are you thinking? I know you remember what happened with Luca, do you really want to go through that again? Do you want to get your heart broken again, Park?"

Cai frowns. He assumes Luca was the guy Park had told him about, but Park had also said it hadn't been a serious relationship or anything. Olivia made it seem like they'd been together, like they'd been boyfriends. Cai suddenly feels sick, wishing he'd made the decision to run when he'd had the chance.

"Olivia, I said shut up," Park growls, the anger in his tone shocking Cai. He's never heard him sound like this, and frankly he doesn't like it.

"You're such an idiot, you know that? You're making out at a brunch your parents are hosting, you know full well what would happen if they saw you. It's like you want them to disown you, I mean --"

"Shut the fuck up!" Park yells, chest heaving as he steps closer to the girl. "Don't fucking say that to me, Olivia. Don't act like you know how this feels, you don't know anything," he snarls.

Cai can't help but notice the unmistakable glint of tears in the girls eyes, and he doesn't blame her for crying. He's biting back tears of his own, more out of fear than anything. It's not like he's afraid of Park, because he's not -- he never could be. It's just this whole situation, it's so fucked up and he's never seen the other boy like this and he doesn't know what any of this means, and he's trying to get his breathing under control before he experiences a full blown panic attack.

"I don't know anything, right. Screw you, Park. I was there for you -- nobody else was, but I was. So when it happens again, when he breaks your heart or when your parents find out, don't you dare come crying to me. I'm done with you, with this." Her voice cracks, shaking her head at Park before turning and walking away without another word.

"Okay, what in the holy hell is happening?" Quinn speaks for the first time, keeping her distance from Park who is tugging at his own hair and mumbling to himself.
