When I awake I am in big, pretty room lying on a really big and comfortable bed. The room seems to have a lot of gold. The bed is really fancy because it is like the one you see in fancy hotels. I look a my body. I am wearing a nice light purple dress. I feel the dress. It feels as soft as a bunny rabbit. Beside me is Mr. Cuddles, my toy green dragon with a bow-tie and fez. The blankets and pillows are soft and comfy. I get out of bed. I'm not wearing slippers. the carpet feels really soft. It is red. it smells like a purple flower that was in mommy's garden. There is one big window. I go to it. From it, I can see a big green garden. There is a clock on a bed side table. It says 8....... two dots, 2....no, 8, no, 3..., then a circle. After that it says A....., then N....., no, M. I wonder what that means. Under that is F......r......1, I think, d.....a.....v, or 7, or y. Then it says 1.....3, or E. after that it says 2....or S, then 3 , or e, then p....t or 1. This room is boring, so I look for the door. I find it kinda of close to the front of the bed. I try the gold handle. The door opens into a room that is white and gold with dark wood floors with a fireplace at the end. In front of the fireplace is a long dark wooden table with nice looking chairs and white plates and golden spoons, forks, and knives. No one is here. This room is pretty also, but still boring. There is a big door to the left and a smaller door to the right. I go to the smaller one and open it. In the room is a very fancy bathroom. The sink is white with gold handles and tap. The shower is also white with a gold handle and a gold sprayer. The bath and.....and, toilet. I laugh for while. The bath and toilet are also white with gold handles and stuff. Know that i'm in here I realize that i need to use it. So I walk up to the toilet and do what i need to do. Once i'm done, I flush the toilet and say: "goodbye Mister Poop!". I laugh out loud again. I go to the sink to wash my hands. As i'm washing my hands I look into the mirror, and I realize that I look really cute in the dress i'm wearing. I don't know why i'm wearing it, but as soon as I find Mama and Papa, they can probably explain. My big green eyes look back at me. I shake my head letting my somewhat curly ginger hair move crazily. I continue my search to find Mama or Papa. I leave the bathroom and head back into the dining room. I now head for the big door and open it. I walk into a room with lots and lots of books.
The room has tons and tons of books. With shelves that reach up really high. There are those ladders you see in libraries that help people reach up high. I look at the shelf to my left. On the shelf closest my chest are big books and small books. I look at their names. One is called The Od.... the Odisey, "The Odyssey"? After that is Olive, no Oliver......Tvist....Twist! "Oliver Twist"! The third one is called "On the shulders....", no "On the Shoulders of Giants". I take it out to read. It's really light for such a big kids book. I open it in the middle. Weird, it's just a bunch words and weird pictures. Some of the pictures have funny looking men. I close the book frustrated and put back. Who would name a book:"On the Shoulders of Giants", and make it a book for parents!? I look at the other shelves, they too have a whole bunch of different sized books, Some with names like: "Twi...light", others called"the Ugly duckling", "Pride and re...ju...dice, as well as two books called:"the Iliad" and the other called:"Dracula." I wander about the library some more until I find THE shelf. This shelf has a whole bunch of picture books. I find one called "A-Z", I take it out and sit down to read. I sit down in a big comfy chair. Beside the chair is another book, called the "The Book of Fate". It is purple. I open the book. It's EMPTY. Weird. Right across from my chair is a piano. After looking at the room for a bit I finally open the book and start to read.
Time passed. I finished reading "A-Z". I reread it a couple of times then got bored. After that I went searching for food. When I went back into the dining room, food was on the table. On the wall where I'm pretty sure there hadn't been before was a door. It was similar to the door to the bathroom. I went to it to open it. It opened into a kitchen that matched the décor of the rest of the house. My stomach grumbled. So I sat down and ate. The food consisted of bread, meat an apple and a some carrots. When I finished I yawned. I went to the bathroom and brushed my teeth with the my toothbrush which was there. Then I went to bed. it continued like this for years. I woke. I ate breakfast, though eventually the food stopped appearing so I learned how to make my own meals. After eating breakfast I would get dressed with my clothing that was in a dresser. After I got dressed I would find a book to read. As I got older I read more that just picture books. I read the Hunchback of Notre-Dame, by Victor Hugo. Really admiring his writing, after reading some of his other books, I read his magnum opus Les Miserables. Sometimes I would get bored and and play around with toys that were there or with Mister Cuddles. Even then that got boring so I taught myself how to play the piano and violin. As the hours turned into days, and the days into years, Mister Cuddles wasn't enough to keep my company, I grew lonely, with only the characters from books for company and friends.
I was walking around the library reading "Anne of Green Gables ", when I noticed something I hadn't before. Tucked in between two bookshelves was a metal door. it looked like it was made to keep something out, or in. I suddenly realized that that door was two things, one the way out of this house but was also meant to keep me in. Upon this revelation I drop the book and go over to the door. Unlike the other doors in this house it has doorknob like what you would see on a safe or a blimp described in many books. I try turning the handle it doesn't budge. I try turning the handle harder, it budges. I eventually force it all the way but the it still doesn't open, weird. After hitting it a few times I give up. I turn and look at the window, then I get an idea. I go up the stairs to the upper level of the library to one of the ladders. I go halfway up the ladder, kind of wobbly, and find the Oxford English Dictionary. I descend the ladder, I don't like the way it creaks. I get to the bottom. The dictionary, weightless, contradictory to what people have said in my books rests in my arm. I stand about 3 feet from the window and chuck it.
The book flies straight into the glass and on contact makes a loud slap. But the dictionary bounces of the window and slides on the carpet to my feet. Deeply confused I walk up to the glass and inspect it no cracks. I put my hear to the glass and tap it. Sounds like glass. Again weird. I eventually decide to have lunch and think about it. I made eggs and bacon with Caesar salad. While I ate lunch I thought about what had occurred. I threw the dictionary, the dictionary, described in many books to be really heavy. It makes contact with the glass, bounces off, no signs of damage. I eventually come to the conclusion that it must be crucible glass. I wonder, if Hercules had thrown it, would I get the same result? After finishing lunch I go to the violin, which I always leave by the piano. I start playing Adagio e Piano by Antonio Vivaldi. I've practiced it to near perfection with the help of listening to it on the sound system. I love music. A life without music is a life lost. Personally I love Beethoven, but I also like a bit of Jean Sibelius. My long bony fingers move elegantly across the strings. After playing my heart out on my violin, I move to the piano and play Moonlight Sonata. When I finish I just let it ring. Eyes closed. I let go and sigh. I just sit there on the piano bench. Looking at the window longing to get out. If only I had the strength of 10 men. Then, I could just force open that ugly metal door. I suddenly feel tired. I walk to my room. As soon as my head hits the pillow I fall asleep.
