Lanie's POV:
I remember the days when Valentines Day meant my valentine was chocolate. I pondered on the subject of this occasion for a minute or two before the doorbell rang. Ross and Riker were both gone, so I went the door and answered it. There stood the love of my life with at least a dozen roses in his hand. I, without hesitation, put my hands on his cheeks and kissed him. He put his hands along with the roses gently against my back. I pulled back after a few seconds, but I didn't take my hands off his cheeks.
"You look like a chipmunk," I said, trying not to burst out laughing.
"I know you wanna laugh." I couldn't hold it in any longer. I burst out laughing. It was funny, but it was also extremely cute. Then I noticed the most beautiful thing I'd seen all day. Riker was wearing glasses.
"Could you get any cuter today?" I asked.
"I'll answer that question as soon as you let me inside my own house," he said. I didn't even realize that we were still on the front porch. I led him inside, and we sat down on the couch, after I put the roses on the counter.
"How do my glasses make me look cute? I always feel like a dork when I wear them," Riker said.
"They bring out your eyes, and I love your eyes. I just love you so much," I gushed to him.
"I love you just as much if not more," he said, "Before you try to argue, we've got some movies to watch!" We ending up watching That Thing You Do and Crazy, Stupid Love. Riker got up and went into the kitchen.
"What are you doing?" I asked him.
"I'm making dinner for my beautiful girlfriend!" he called out from the kitchen. I walked in the kitchen and sat down on a barstool. He started making whatever he was making. Maybe chicken, I guess? He watched it intently with the exception of the times he would look up at me, smiling. My heart fluttered every time he smiled at me. I don't care how long we've dated. My heart still flutters every time.
He finished and plated it. I followed him to the table and sat down. He put a plate in front of me and one in the place beside me. He walked back into the kitchen and came back with two glasses obviously filled with some type of soda. He sat down, and we soon began eating. After we finished eating, he suggested that we watch another movie. He let me pick, and I chose Grease. What can I say? It's a classic and a good one at that. I got a blanket since I was already cold and sat down, after putting the movie in. Riker put both his arms around my stomach and pulled me closer to him. I put the blanket on top of both of us and laid one arm on his waist, and he leaned his head on mine. A little after half way through the movie, I could tell he was about to fall asleep.
"Riker, do you want to go to bed now?" I asked him.
"Nah. I'll be fine," he said. He almost yawned but managed to hold it in. I rolled my eyes and continued to watch the movie. About five minutes later, I could hear soft snores coming from his mouth. I turned the tv off and snuggled into his side. It didn't take me very long until I was asleep as well.

Ok, so when I said "a few chapters left", that's partially true. Except plus a bunch. I've got six more chapters written as I'm writing this author's note.
