Lanie's POV:
I woke up with my stomach hurting. I looked down under the covers and noticed a small red stain on the sheets. Great! Just great! Looks like I'm going to be having a very red Christmas this year. I changed my sheets and got dressed. I went downstairs and gently lied down on the couch. Generally, I would flop, but I don't feel up to flopping. I lied there for a few minutes before getting a headache. I didn't even feel like moving now. Riker walked into the room.
"Hey, love!" he said, cheerily.
"Your cheeriness is killing me," I said, groaning.
"Aw! What's wrong?" he said in a concerned tone.
"I've got a headache and my stomach hurts."
"How bad is it? Do you want to go to the doctor?" he asked.
"No, Riker. I'm on my period."
"You could have just told me that. I grew up with Rydel complaining about it. I'm used to it."
"HEY GUYS! WHAT DO YOU WANT FOR BREAKFAST?" Ross yelled through the house. I cringed and buried my face in the couch. I felt myself being lifted up.
"You shouldn't be down here. They'll probably be doing that a lot like usual," Riker said. He carried me upstairs and set me down on my bed. He went to open the door.
"Riker, please stay with me," I begged. He smiled and turned back around. I stretched my arms out like a toddler. He came over and lied down next to me, pulling me close to him.
"I love you," he said.
"I love you more," I said.
"I'm pretty sure we both love each other very much, so let's just end this now," he said, looking into my eyes. He kissed me, shortly and sweetly.
*Christmas*
Riker's POV:
Lanie still wasn't feeling good, but she still wanted to go to my parent's house for Christmas. She came out of her room, looking as gorgeous as usual.
"Are you sure you want to go? We could stay here if-"
"No. I wouldn't want to miss a Lynch Christmas," she said. I put an arm around her waist and led her to the van. I usually drove, but I let Ryland drive so I could sit with Lanie. After he parked, we all went inside and sat down on the couches.
"I can't wait to find out if I have a niece or nephew," I said.
"Well, I still have a month before I can find out, so you'll have to wait," Rydel said. I felt Lanie lay her legs on me and saw that she was lying down.
"You still don't feel good?" I asked her. She nodded her head. "Why don't you go upstairs and lie down?"
"No, I'll be ok." The door was opened, and in came most of my family from Colorado. Bauer had always been close to Lanie, so he came and sat right on her stomach. She groaned. "Bauer, can you please get off of me?" I quickly removed Bauer and sat him on the couch beside me. Another one of my cousins came over to me. She was only three and was so cute! I picked her up and sat her in my lap.
"Hey, sweetie!" I said. She started babbling to me about a bunch of stuff, and I made comments back to her. She slipped out of my arms and ran off.
"You're really good with little kids," Lanie said.
"I want kids some day, so I hope I am," I said.
"Trust me. You are, and if your kids look anything like you, they'll be adorable."
"I know this is kinda random, but do you want to have kids in the future?" I asked her.
"Actually, yes. I've always wanted a little boy or a little girl. I don't even really have a preference. Maybe even both. I don't know," she rambled.
"Hey, Lanie. I think they're gonna need more room on the couch. Why don't you come sit with me? Or we could sit on the floor." She got up and sat down on the floor. I went over and sat beside her, putting my arm around her shoulders. She put her head on my shoulder.
"I'm sorry you don't feel good, even worse on Christmas," I said.
"I'll be fine." I kissed her forehead and saw a phone camera flash.
"Mooom!" I said.
"Don't you 'mooom!' me!" Stormie said.
"No, I was going to say that I want you to send me that," I said, smiling. She nodded and started typing on her phone. I got a message with the picture. I smiled and saved it to my phone.
Lanie's POV:
"Time to eat everybody!" Stormie said. I sat down in between Riker and his grandma. We all ate and talked. Mamoo (Riker's grandma) talked to me for a good while.
"You are such a wonderful girl for Riker!" she said and turned to Riker. "Son, you aren't getting any younger and neither is she." She pointed to her wedding ring. I laughed, but Riker just smiled.
"I'll keep that in mind," Riker said, grabbing ahold of my hand from under the table. After dinner, I noticed my cramps had stopped. I went over and talked to Walker, Justice, Rydel, and Savannah. I enjoyed the rest of the evening talking to them and opening presents.
