Chapter Two
Dear Diary,
It's been 13 days since we arrived in the UK and so far I'm quite undecisice as to whether or not I like it. Yes, I love wet weather and winter but all the time? It's driving me a little insane. I've had a couple for the last couple of days and all I want to do is to go out in the sun and go to the beach and go sunbathing with my best friends, who are... are over ten thousand miles away. I miss them a whole bunch and life will never be the same without them. I start school fairly soon, so hopefully.. maybe i'll make some friends, or not even plural, i'd just like one if that's possible.
Talk to you soon
Caroline.
I know it seemed childish to still write in a journal at this age, but it's never too late to write about how you feel, otherwise you'd end up bottling it up inside and snap when you reach beaking point. Plus, it helps me get creative with my literary as I love writing poetry and music.
I closed my diary and put my pen down, and just let it sink in. My life is going to change. I looked over to my room and my walls, all bare with nothing on it, no hanging polaroids of my friends or anything. Not me. Not anyone. Maybe it's time to move on, and start afresh. I looked at the time, 3pm. I walked over the fridge and to my dismay we were out of food. I raced up to my room, grabbed my wallet and looked at the mirror. I was wearing my thin cotton shirt with hype written on it, my wet look skater skirt and my black vans. I put some lipstick and eyeliner on, tied my hair into a high ponytail and went out the door.
Luckily it was a little sunny out so I didn't take my umbrella. I walked down the road and admired the scenery. It was fairly lovely town, and was still getting used to saying where I lived now. Brighton.
?? POV:
I was vlogging as usual when I saw a girl walking out of her house, she was well pretty. I hadn't seen her before and was quite surprised because this town was really small. I recieved a text from Alfie. I looked down and it read:
Alfie: "Dibs"
Fuck. I looked up and saw Alfie grinning like a stupid idiot. We were going to do a collaboration today and he texted me earlier to meet outside his apartment. "You can only say dibs if you've met them before you twat" I cried, she was honestly so pretty, alot different to girls around here. "Marcus, we were at the airport coming back from playlist live and she tripped over my camera cords" he replied patting me on the shoulder out of sympathy. Awell, maybe she has some friends.
Marcus' POV:
We vlogged our introductions for the video outside and quickly ran inside because Alfie was complaining his nipples were getting hard, and so were mine but I wasn't game enough to admit it. We got in our onesies and filmed one video for my channel which consisted of a cream and eggs, and then decided to run off to get the mail from our PO Boxes.
Alfie and I walked in to the office and sat down with our ticket waiting to be called. This always takes forever.
Caroline's POV
I was on my way coming to the house because there's no way I'm calling it home, when my dad texted me that he needed me to go to the PO Box office and order a mail coordinate for our shipping address. Luckily it was on the way, because that tiny ray of sunlight didn't last very long and it was getting really cold. For some reason I decided to walk... in a thin, cotton shirt and skater skirt with vans. I was freezing.
I arrived at the PO box office and walked into the room which was warm as ever. The doorbell rung as I opened the door and all faces were on me. Some has quizzical expressions, probably because I was a new face so I disregarded it. I took a ticket and sat down, waiting for what it seemed like ages.
Alfie's POV
The doorbell rung while we were still waiting and it was her, she looked cold as ever and I wasn't surprised - how come she's wearing so little? Bit silly. I watched her sat down. She glanced over at me and I quickly moved to pretend I was stretching. I heard snickers from Marcus and heard him whisper things like "Real smooth" but I didn't care. My thoughts were interrupted when the crazy obnoxious counter lady screamed our number. We got up and asked for the mail. They had to have two big bulky guys carry out 6 bags worth of mail and packages. My eyes widened, these fans of ours are amazing. I was carrying two while marcus had a rented trolley. I was carrying the bags when there was a rip in one and a bajillion envelopes and things came piling out. "Shit" I whispered.
I set the other bag down and knelt down, picking things up and putting them in a spare bag. I looked over to see the girl I saw earlier helping me. I just smiled and said thankyou. "Did you need help putting them in your car or something?" she asked, with a strong accent... one that wasn't british, or didn't seem like it. "That would be great, thanks" I responded. We both carried out the bags to car where I saw marcus smirking at me. She lifted the bag in her hands to marcus who put it in our car. "So why so many bags?" she chuckled "Are you secretly One Direction's 6th and 7th members?" which caused us all to laugh. I wish.
We finished putting all the bags away. "I'm Alfie, by the way, and this is Marcus" I spoke. She explained that her name was Caroline, and that she had just moved here from Australia. She stuck her hand out to shake mine, but I pulled her in for a hug "I'm not really a hugger, but you're cool"
We exchanged numbers and everything and just when I was going to invite her out with us, she explained that she had to go because the icecream she had bought for groceries were going to melt soon, so she went to walk off. "How far is your house?" I asked, wondering because it was getting fairly dark. "Oh, uhh just on Holland Road.." she responded. You've got to be kidding me. That's like a 30 minute walk. "Well your icecream will definitely melt before you get there, and it's way to dark and cold for a girl to be walking by herself, we'll give you a lift" I told her.
We got into Marcus' car, however there wasn't room in the back so she ended up having to sit on my lap. She was shivering when we got in so I gave her my jumper and wrapped my arms around her and explained that it was because she looked too cold. I wasn't complaining, Marcus didn't seem too happy though. Sucker.
We got to her house, and she thanked us heaps.
She was walking away and I had realised, I haven't gone out of my circle of friends in Youtube for so long, and it was kind of peaceful and nice not to talk about it 24/7 and not have everyone you're around putting a camera to your face.
I also realised she has my jumper, but that just gives me an excuse to see her again.
It was chill.
This was definitely not the end.
