-FLASHBACK-

Niall's P.O.V.

I walked down the street, the sun trying to escape it's jail cell, the clouds. My sweatshirt covered my beach blond hair.

The wind brushing wisps in my face. I could hear the roaring of laughter from across the road.

A familiar voice echoed in my ears. I focused my eyes on the couple. I noticed Josie and Matty.

She held his hand in hers. Her smile was as bright as the sun, that had suddenly peaked out from behind the clouds and trees.

I walked up to my brick house, the glass door showing me my reflection. My finger tips becoming swollen from being in the cold breeze so long, they were numb and purple.

I wish she knew how many people Matty had brought home and into his house before. Matty had always treated girls roughly.

He'd chew them up and after having enough, spit them out on the concrete floor.

Josie and Matty had only just started seeing each other. But I knew it wouldn't be long until she was another victim of the Matty game.

I didn't have a clue what she saw in him. He was a scumbag, a jerk, a jock. Defiantly not her type.

I want her to be with me, not him. I want her to hold my hand when we are walking down the road, not his hand.

I want to cuddle her up on the couch and kiss her forehead, hearing her heart beat every second.

But to her, we were just friends. Nothing more than friends. I don't want it to be that way, but she'd never LOVE me. Only as a friend would she ever LOVE me.

-LATER-

Loud music came from down the street as I studied. I had a huge exam tomorrow, and I wasn't going to fail it.

I looked out the window, catching Matty running outside of his house.

His eyebrows narrowed as he stared into the street, looking at something that I couldn't catch glimpse of.

I bit my nail, staring. He screamed, putting on his sunglasses and getting in his car. His dark brown hair hung over his eyes.

I noticed long blonde hair in the passengers seat. She turned her head, and it wasn't Josie.

Matty leaned in, his smile growing as he stared into her eyes. My mouth fell open as they kissed.

Anger came over my body as I stared at them. He was cheating on my best friend.

The girl I love. The girl that could be mine. I had to tell Josie. But if I did, I'd break her heart, it would kill her.

Matty caught my eyes as he drove, he watched as I studied the girl.

I quickly shut the blinds after they drove past, laughing at each other and blasting the music as loud as they could. My house shook.

I scratched my head with my pencil. Putting my head down on my Chemistry book and shaking my head.

He's such a jerk. Why would he do this to someone? I always knew Matty was an asshole.

When we were younger he'd trip girls and tackle the boys to the ground. In kindergarten he had been expelled, don't even get me started on how.

Chemistry was making my head ache in pain. But Matty was making me want to have a tantrum. I have to tell Josie. She's my best friend, I just have to.
