"Zuko stop! you can't kill Aang'' screamed Katara. But Zuko's rage at the time was only matched by the flames aimed for Aang. As Aang desperately dodged the vast balls of fire, he noticed them starting to slow down, as if Zuko was finally stopping his assault. But his theory was wrong, as he regained his balance he looked up to the sky to see Zuko. Aang could see the rage in the eyes of the great fire bender, and soon realized he had to fight back in order to survive.
Just as Aang raised his hands to fight back, a wave of water separated the two. The twisting waters slowly put out the fires, and slowly led Zuko down to the ground. Seconds after Zuko's feet touched the ground, Katara ran up and hugged him. With tears running down her face, she pleaded with him to stop. Aang's head filled with thoughts about what he just saw. Confusion, jealously, and some how a little anger filled the young air bender's head. Zuko did not know what to say or do in this situation. He reached his hand up to Katara's face and wiped the tears away. Zuko slowly mumbled a couple words, that Aang could not make out. But Katara understood, he said " I am sorry". She wraps her arms around him, and digs her face into his chest to hide the tears that were sure to arise. Zuko like wise wrapped his arms around her. By this time Zuko's feelings for her slowly started to show. He let go of her a little, just to see her face turning as red as the flowers on the island. Seeing Katara blush had made Aang's jealously for Zuko rise to the point where he slowly started to walk over to them.
Zuko's head rose when he heard the footsteps of the only other person at the beach. Katara rushed out of Zuko's arms, as if she forgot they were not alone. She pushed her hair in her face to hide the fact that she was still blushing." So what exactly was that all about" asked Aang. "Sorry my temper got the best of me" said Zuko. "No not that, what happened afterwards" said Aang. Both Zuko and Katara's faces were almost blank, like they had just been caught for a crime. "It was nothing, I was just calming him down" said Katara. "Ya she was calming me down" said Zuko, going along with the act. Aang said nothing for a minute, he stood there starring at Zuko and Katara wondering what was going on. " We better get back to the house" said Zuko. He started to walk away, Katara started to follow, until Aang tugged on her sleeve. She turns around to see the face of Aang, with a look on his face that showed confusion,and that he was worried. "So you're sure that nothing's going on?'' asked Aang."I don't really know" says Katara. She turns and starts to walk back leaving Aang on the beach. Aang did not know what to do, he stood there in silence as he watched the girl he had feelings for walk away into the darkness.
