The next morning Katara is woken up by the sound of someone knocking on her door. She sits up on her bed wondering who it is. She opens up the door slightly and peeks out. ''Hi can I come in?" says Zuko. Katara's face shows how surprised she is to wake up to Zuko at her door. ''Um sure" says Katara blushing a little bit as she slowly opens the door. Zuko walks in to see Aang sitting on Katara's couch. "um hi Aang" says Zuko. Katara looks backs at each one she almost felt the tension forming between the two boys. "Do you want to come in and sit down?" asks Katara. ''Sure" says Zuko and as he walks towards the seat Aang watches his every move. Zuko sits down and feels the chill running up his back from the awkward situation he just walked into. ''The expression on Aang's face had changed ever since Zuko walked in'' Katara said to herself. ''So nice weather today" said Zuko trying to start a conversation."yep'' said Aang. Katara could tell that this was gonna be really awkward unless she could get one of them to leave yet the problem that she faced was which one to ask to leave. The boy who had been best friends with her since they first met or the boy she was slowly starting to fall for. The question rattled through her head finally she made her decision. "Aang not trying to be rude but could you please leave?'' asks Katara. "Fine" says Aang as he gets up and walks out the door slamming it behind him. After he leaves Katara moves closer to Zuko and says "I know you don't like him''. "Its not that" says Zuko. "Then what is it?'' asks Katara. Zuko goes to open his mouth and the door flies open."Katara there's a giant sea turtle outside,I know you told me to get out but I thought you'd like to see this''. says Aang. "Cool Aang give us a sec and we'll be out".says Katara. Aang closes the door and runs back towards the beach. Katara looks back over at Zuko and asks "Now what were you saying?'' "Nothing" says Zuko as he gets up and walks out the door.
Back at the beach the waves had calmed down since last night,Aang was doing his own thing splashing and chasing after the turtle. He raises his head out of the water to notice Zuko and Katara still talking as they walked towards the beach. This had made Aang quite angry. The fact that Katara was paying more attention to Zuko, then him. He had an idea, he started using his water bending to make a little ball. He threw the ball through the air, aiming for Zuko. The water ball exploded inches away from Zuko's face. Katara after putting her head down trying not to get wet, looked up to see Zuko covered in water. She started to blush on the spot. Aang noticed this and got even angrier as he started to go deeper into the water. A wall of water separated the two just as it did the night before. Katara was furious, she started to blow, turning the trail of water into ice. The trail went all the way back to Aang, he become frozen in the water. "What's your problem?" asked Zuko. "It's nothing,Aang just keeps separating us and I'm getting tired of it" says Katara.
Aang breaks free of the ice trap and creates a wave that is taking him towards shore. Zuko pushes Katara aside knowing Aang was coming for him. Zuko readies himself knowing that he has to keep himself under control since Katara was right next to him. Aang pushes his hand forward to the point where little ice spears come out of the wave towards Zuko. Zuko shoots a blast of fire, a cloud of steam forms from the water, ice, and fire combining. Katara watching from the sidelines is surprised that Aang would use such a deadly attack against Zuko. She realized she had to end this before it began. She uncapped her water ore on her hip and used it to push Zuko and Aang as far away from each other as she could, noticing that Katara had used her water bending to separate the two of them and they put their stances down. Aang goes to say that he's sorry and Katara says to Aang "Just leave me alone". Aang has never seen Katara so angry so he just walks off the beach leaving the two alone.
