Chapter 4

The clown chased after me with an axe, "Cryyyystaaaal! Come out to play!"

I ran down the endless hallways or school locker that I've seen in movies.

"No! Go away" I yelled.

I turned left.

And it was a dead end.

The clown ran towards me–––

"CRYSTAL!" Mum's voice yelled out.

I jumped up from my bed, only to end up falling on the floor.

*PLONK*

I look up to see mum.

"You have school today! Get ready." She reminded me.

Oh.

"Thanks for waking me up." I breathed relieved that the nightmare was over.

"Stop being sarcastic with your mother." She scolded and walk out.

But.. I wasn't... Ugh. I hate it when you get in trouble for a misunderstanding or for something you didn't do.

I drag myself to my closet to see the clothes Leah has set out for me.

A bunch of sweaters, long jumpers, huge hoodies, sweat pants and a lot of other things I would never wear in my photoshoots, ever.

I pick out an orange hoodie with some black skinny jeans from my own closet.

I put on my orange converse and the black curly wig.

I'll just straighten it...

5 minutes later I finish straightening my wig, I put it on my hair.

A bright yellow sticky note catches my eye.

And see that Leah left a note for me.

I read: 'Crystal, I bought a new house for you and Elena to live in so that no one finds out that you live in a models house.'

I leave my room to find...

DUN DUN DUUUN!

"Eewww. You look ugly!"

I rolled my eyes and continued walking.

"Why are you so ugly for? I thought you were a model." He poked me.

And I continued waking.

As I made it into the kitchen, I smelt the wonderful smell of... Nothing?

Huh?

But it's the kitchen... Did mum forget breakfast?

The kitchen was clean.

Too clean.

I see a note on the fridge,

'Crystal and Kyle, I had to go to work early.
Kyle go to your room and don't annoy crystal.
Crystal, you probably got that note from Leah meaning you would have to stay at another house.
To leave the house without anyone seeing you, leave in the 'HooBoo' and follow the red line.
Have fun at school Crystal.
And Kyle don't you even wander what 'HooBoo' is. Have fun at home. Don't make a mess.
Mum'

I extremely hate the name 'HooBoo'.

Apparently, my house has a secret tunnel underground, which leads nearly anywhere in town.

And my mum named it 'HooBoo'.

What kind of name is that?!

I grab two apples.

One for breakfast, one for lunch.

I walk into the attic.

I know weird place to have a secret room which leads to an underground tunnel.

The attic is practically empty.

Except for a bookshelf and some dusty boxes.

I walk over to the bookshelves and look for the book to pull.

Hmm... Nope. No. Nah. No- Wait.

I pulled the familiar red book to hear the familiar sound of the secret door opening.

I entered the secret room to find a red line.

That's the line I have to follow.

12 minutes later I finally reach the end of the red line.
