Luke's POV
"Here's your chocolate shake and fries. I apologize for your wait." She smiled politely.
"Its alright, princess. No need for apologizing." I said and flashed her my signature grin.
Most girls would've been drooling at this point but not Kaity. There was something different about her and I happen to like things that are different.
"You know you're into me Kaity." I nearly whispered.
"I prefer Kaitlynn and I'm not really interested. You've been with more girls than I can count, Lucas. And that's a turn off." She replied, just as quietly.
"I give it 2 months. By then, I'll have you head over heels in love with me." I grinned at her.
"Lucas, I don't want to disappoint you but I'd rather have straight A's than have a hopeless crush on the school's bad boy." She grinned just as widely.
I hated when people called me Lucas but there was something about the way my name fell perfectly from her lips. In that moment, I knew she was the only girl I had a chance of loving. After all she gave me, Luke Hemmings, the schools bad boy, butterflies.
Kaitlynn's POV
I never really believed in love at first sight or soul mates or any of that because my parents were living proof that marriages fail and love runs out. They put on a show and acted like the perfect couple and made us appear to be the perfect family but honestly, we were a mess.
My mom had begun drowning the sorrow of a failed marriage in booze and my father was having meaningless sex to get over his heartbreak.
That is why I wanted nothing to do with Lucas Robert Hemmings. It would fail and I would be heartbroken so what was the point? Why try when you know how it ends?
