A WEEK LATER

TRIS POV

I wake up to the sound of a shower. I sit up in bed and notice Tobias isn't in bed. I roll over in the bed and see the clock says 7:00. I quickly get up and start getting ready for school. This is the first day I've been back to school since I got out of the hospital. I throw on a pink long-sleeved shirt that says P!nk in teal with a pair of jeans and pink Vans. For make-up I put on a little eye-liner with mascara and lip gloss. I rush downstairs expecting an angry Andrew but instead I see the gang. This is going to take a while to get used to. Zeke must notice me standing there breathing hard. "Are you okay Tris." Everyone turns my direction. "Yeah I'm good." I walk over to the kitchen and grab a banana before heading upstairs to grab my backpack. I walk in and see Tobias finishing getting ready. I give him a morning kiss. "Good morning love." I tell him. "Hey beautiful." He pecks my lips and we walk downstairs. When everyone is ready we get in the cars and make our way to school.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~AT SCHOOL~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We pull up in the parking lot and get out. Immediately Lauren the school Queen bee is all over Tobias. "Hey baby, want to come over later?" He rolls his eyes and try's to walk away but she grabs his arm as tight as she can. "Lauren let go. Now!" "Why? It's not like you really want to be here with these losers." She says. "What losers? Because the only thing I see is a jerk that thinks of nothing but herself." He says and rips his arm away. He grabs my hand and we head to first period.
~~~~~~~SKIP TO MUSIC~~~~~~~~

"Alright today we will have a few students sing by themselves. Who wants to go first?" Tobias shoots his hand up. "I Volunteer Tris to go first." I shoot him a death glare and he smiles at me. I roll my eyes and walk onto stage. "Ok Umm... I'm going to sing a song I wrote called 'Little toy guns'

In between the coats in the closet

She held on to that heart-shaped locket

Staring at a family, flawless

But it ain't a pretty picture tonight

Mom and daddy just won't stop it

Fighting at the drop of a faucet

Cuts through the walls, catastrophic

She's caught in the crossfire

Puts her hands over her ears

Starts talking through the tears

And she's saying, and she's praying

I wish words were like little toy guns

No sting, no hurting no one

Just a bang, bang rolling off your tongue

(I wish words were like little toy guns)

Yeah, no smoke, no bullets

No kick from the trigger when you pull it

No pain, no damage done

(I wish words were like little toy guns)

And just a bang, bang rolling off your tongue

(I wish words were like little toy guns)

Wish there was a white flag waving

Or that they were both just faking

And it was just a game they were playing

Like shoot-'em-up cowboys

Leave the plastic pistols in the front yard
