I wake up, not sure of where I am . . . voices argue in the next room as I slowly realize that I'm still in Klaus's room, laying on the floor.

"Have you lost your mind Klaus?" I hear Cami screaming.

"Oh come now my dear Camille. All I did was frighten the poor thing a little." I can hear the smirk in Klaus's voice.

"I think we can all say that Klaus's behavior was a bit . . . excessive. But none of us could have expected what she was really capable of."

"Yes brother, thank you for the reminder. Now I'll have to replace my bloody door." I hear him chuckle and Cami scoff. Looking around I notice, for the first time, that the room is in a state of complete disarray. The door is indeed busted into a million fragments and the windows are shattered.

"What in the world. . ." I whisper, standing up uncertainly. 'I've got to get out of here . . . away from these monsters. . .' I make my way to the doorway, looking around cautiously. Deciding to make a break for it I take off down the hallway, towards the front door. Before I get more than a few feet I feel a hand grab my wrist, whirling me around and pulling me towards him . . . Klaus.

"Going somewhere my little witch?" His eyes glimmer gleefully.

"Please. . . Don't hurt me. .I. . . I won't tell anyone. ." I see Elijah, Rebecca, and Camille appear behind him.

"Niklaus, enough." Elijah states, appearing behind me, pulling me from Klaus's grip. I flinch and he releases me. I glance towards the door laying in pieces on the floor, then at Klaus and Elijah.

"You have no idea what you are, do you?" Elijah asks, seeing the confusion on my face.

"Come now brother don't be absurd. How could she not know? A witch as powerful as she is couldn't possibly. . . ." He trails off, noticing the pure fear and confusion on my face.

"Brother dear, it appears she really doesn't know." Rebecca chimes in. At this point I'm practically shaking with fear. Tears well up in my eyes. . . This overwhelming sensation suddenly rushes over me . . . an intense hunger that I've never felt before . . . I feel as if I'm about to faint again as the room starts to spin. . . . . . the room goes dark and it's like a dream . . . I hear Cami screaming. . . Elijah is shouting my name . . . I feel a pair of strong hands grab me by the shoulders. . . I finally come too and see Cami lying on the floor, bleeding, and Elijah and Rebecca is standing in front of her protectively. . . Klaus has me by the waist, dragging me across the hallway and out the door.

All of a sudden we are in an alleyway and I'm pushed up against a brick wall, Klaus looking at me intently.

"W . . . where am I?" I stutter, shaking with fear. He grabs me by the shoulders and shouts at me angrily.

"You almost killed Cami!! If we hadn't been there. . . God I should kill you right now!" The anger in his voice brings tears to my eyes.

"W . . . what are you saying . . . I . . . how . . . I don't understand. . ." I stammer as Klaus drags me to a window. My face is streaked with blood, the front of my chest and gown is soaked. I gasp and fall to the ground, sobbing. I shake my head in disbelief as Klaus picks me up from the ground. I struggle against his grasp, unable to tear my eyes from the image in the reflection . . . an image of a monster. . . He turns me to face him, anger in his eyes.

"Please. . . I don't understand . . . why . . . what am I? Ho... How could I. . ." His gaze softens and he realizes that I don't know what happened.

"You don't remember?" He queries. I shake my head and he releases his grip.

"How is this possible?" He whispers, running his hands through his hair. I'm leaning on the wall again, gasping for air through the sobs.

"I think I can answer that." A voice speaks out from the shadows. An older woman appears, looking at me and Klaus, "She's a hybrid like yourself Klaus."

"Be gone woman. I've got no time for your nonsense." He snaps angrily.

"Oh it's far from nonsense Klaus. She comes from a long line of hybrids. Part witch, part vampire."

"But a witch is . . ."

"Human. She is a damphyr. The last of her kind and must be protected at all costs for she may be our only hope against what is coming and the danger we all face."
