I step into the shower, heart heavy with sadness, hoping the hot water would make me feel better. This is the first time I had allowed myself to feel anything at all . . . years of abuse had made me numb, until I met Klaus. Something about him filled my heart with wonder and hope, a feeling I hadn't ever felt. His words cut like knife deep into my heart, he didn't want me here. . . . I had almost killed his precious Camille . . . someone he cared for in a way he would never care for me . . . in a way NOONE ever would. . . The warm water mixes with my tears as I allow the sobs to overtake me, sinking to my knees in the shower. I lay there for what seems like forever when I feel strong arms pick me up gently. Looking up, I see Klaus's piercing eyes looking at me sadly.

"Hush now." He says as he sits me down, wrapping a towel around me gently, wiping the tears from my face. I can't look him the face, feeling ashamed of what I am . . . of what I had done. . Klaus grabs my face in his, forcing me to look up at him.

"You are not an abomination." He states firmly, "now get dressed, we have much to discuss." He walks out of the bathroom, closing the door behind him gently. Pulling my clothes on, I hesitate. .'What could he possibly have left to say? Was what he said earlier not enough?' My heart aches at the thought. I take a deep break, wipe my few remaining tears away and open the bathroom door. Klaus is sitting on the end of my bed and, upon seeing me, gets up slowly. I attempt a smile but fail miserably, instead I walk past him towards the balcony; he follows close behind me. He grabs my arm gently, whirling me around to face him, pulling me towards him.

"What do you want Klaus? Haven't you said enough?" I ask weakly, Klaus frowns.

"I might have been a bit harsh." He admits. I scoff as I pull away from his grasp, turning to face the open courtyard.

"I have never felt like I belonged . . . my whole life I felt an emptiness that I could never place," I begin, feeling Klaus inches behind me, "I never thought it was because of . . . this. You heard Maggie, I'm the last of my kind. No one out there understands what it's like to be me . . . to have been deprived of any emotion other than pure hatred." I'm shaking with emotion as I try to fight the sobs that threaten to explode from my chest.

"You are not alone. . ." Klaus whispers as he lays a hand on my shoulder, "We are more alike than you can ever possibly imagine. I was hasty in my words earlier, angry because I thought you had intentionally tried to harm Camille. I am sorry Lilly." He closes the distance between us, I can feel his warm skin against mine as he wraps his arms around me. Leaning against him I feel safe . . . for the first time since I can remember. He kisses my head gently, as picks me up, carrying me to the bed.

"Time to sleep love. It's been a long day" He pulls the covers around me, turning around to leave as I grab his hand.

"Don't go. Will you stay with me until I fall asleep?" Klaus smiles softly and, without a word, climbs into the bed next to me, wrapping his arms around me. The events of the day finally overtake me and I fall into a fitful sleep.

"You are an abomination. You don't deserve to live. We will kill you and all you love"

"NO!" I wake with a start, drenched in sweat. Klaus is nowhere to be found and it is still dark. A dark figure is standing in front of me.

"Klaus!!" I scream as the figure hold a hand out, a magical force grabbing me by the throat. I gasp for air and my vision starts to go dark . . . Somewhere in the distance I hear a commotion, Klaus and Elijah yelling. . The figure stands over me as everything goes dark. . .

"Lilly. . ." A soft voice calls to me; my eyes flutter open and I'm surrounded by flowers, a clear blue sky above me. I stand up shakily, looking for the source of the voice; a woman stands in front of me, her white gown blowing in the breeze, long blonde hair flows past her waist. She holds her hand out, beckoning me to follow her. Turning, she walks towards an old wooden house in the middle of the field.

"Go, and learn the truth my dear."

"Who are you?" I ask, but she vanishes out of sight. I take a deep breathe, opening the door of the house. In an instant I'm thrown back in time; a woman is standing in the middle of the room, weeping, as she holds a baby close to her chest.

"It must be done." A male voice speaks from a dark corner.

"She's just a baby!" The woman shrieks, holding the baby protectively.

"She's the last of her kind, and she must be protected at all costs! We can protect her, but she must come with us now before it is too late!" Beside the man stands a tall red-headed woman, her eyes filled with compassion as she holds out her hands to take the baby. The weeping woman gives the baby one last kiss before handing her over to the red-head. With a jolt, I'm thrown out of the house, into another scene, one not as pleasing. It's the same red-headed women, laying on the ground in a pool of blood. A man standing above her, blood dripping from his mouth.

"Where is the girl?" He snarls at the woman, who is still alive.

"I'll never tell you!" She hisses, before pulling out a knife, slicing her own throat.

"Stupid witch... we will still find her." He snarls, stalking out of the courtyard. 'We'?

"Michael! She's not here!" He yells, as things fade slowly out of vision. I hear Klaus yelling my name and I awake with a jolt. I'm back in his bedroom, on the floor.... Tears streak Klaus's face as he embraces me in a tight hug.

"Michael. . ." I whisper in his ear. He tenses, pulling away from me with a look of shock on his face.

"What did you say?"

"A name. ... The man who killed the witches at the coven . . . looking for me. . . Michael."

"Michael is my father . . .!"
