You watched Nick walk away. Why did he do that? You felt your cheeks reddening.
You went inside your apartment and turned on the lights.
His stuff was here, a constant reminder. Your eyes started to brim with tears. It was all your fault, if you Hadn't gone that day, things wouldn't be this way. he wouldn't be dead, you wouldn't be depressed. You couldn't stop crying for hours. Eventually you fall asleep. You wake up an hour before school starts.
"Shit.." You mumble and quickly get up to take a shower. You wash the tear stains off your face and get dressed into sweats and a sweater. You were just about to leave your house when you notice his bedroom door open. Your heart stops. You walk over and slowly push his door open, everything is still where he had left it. Walking over to his window you see a box sitting on his dresser, curiously you open it.
Pictures of you when you were young, school art project you've made together. Matching bracelets you made for each other. You've forgotten all about those. You grab the bracelet you made for him and smile. You race to your room and grab the bracelet he made for you and slip it onto your wrist.

"Class, you have one week to present your projects." Your professor explains. You look to the back of the class where Nick normally sits but he isn't there. Once class is over you walk to your locker. That's when you see him.
Nick is leaning on your locker holding a giant teddy bear and a bag full of sweets in his hand. You immediately smile and pick up your pace.
"Hi." Nick smiles at you.
"Hi." You blush.
"I got these for you." He shyly smiles and hands you the teddy bear and candy.
"Thank you so much, I don't-" You start but he cuts you off.
"It's okay, I know what it's like to loose someone, and it's always nice to have someone by yours side."
"Thank you." You shyly smile.
"No problem."
