(Y/n) P.O.V

I slumped over the old couch and fell asleep. Visions of my family crossed my mind until I woke up. It was a dream that I didn't need to worry about.

I fell back asleep soundlessly and woke up to the sound of birds tweeting in the sky, couldn't they ruin someone else's morning?!

I sighed as I got dressed, I would be starting work soon and would need to get in the habit of waking early.

I walked out of my home to go to the park, it was a lot more peaceful there than in this den of a home.

I sat on the swings and slowly rocked back and forth, enjoying the peace and quiet. All that was ruined however when I heard the sound of someone sitting in the swing next to me.

I glanced quickly to see it was the boy who caught me stealing from yesterday. Panic filled my up as I tried to think of an escape plan.

I slowly got up casually and walked off, hoping the boy wouldn't see.

"Scan her." He whispered to someone. I whizzed my head around to see him talking to a white blobby thing.

"Oh no you don't!" I yelled. He looked up and stared in shock.

"Quickly Baymax!" He yelled.

"I am not fast." Said the robot I think was called Baymax. I stopped staring at them and started to sprint off.

"Hold up!" The boy screamed. I darted across the playground as he chased me, despite being skinny, he was actually really fast.

"Leave me alone!" I yelled.

"Just let me talk!" He panted.

"NEVER!" I screeched, tripping over my shoe laces. I picked myself up and saw the blood on my knee. I ignored the stinging pain and scrambled up a tree, the boy hot on my heels.

"Please let me talk to you." He pleaded. I inched a little lower down the branch and stared at the ground.

"No. Stay away you creep." I said. They boy looked a little hurt in his eyes but soon replaced it with determination.

"Why are you so afraid?" He asked. I slowly got ready to jump. I turned my head and met with his eyes. He had climbed up here pretty quickly.

"I... I..." I ended up tripping over my words, his brown orbs mesmerising me. "I'm not afraid, I just don't need more lies." I said, jumping, I bent my knees as I landed and took off.

He wouldn't know what I meant by lies, we would never see each other again, his robot thing didn't scan me so he has no evidence of my existence.

I ran through the town and snatched a first aid kit, taking it home and cleaning myself up.

I leant back on my couch and sighed. My fake life was becoming more and more like my real life, it felt better and more natural than the truth, the truth was always a fear of mine, The more I hid, the better.

Eventually the day of my first job rolled around and I became super pumped.

I got ready early and left my home, looking as if I were like any other child, not a parentless mess.

I opened the cafe door to be met with Cass. "Welcome! I hope you do great with your first day! Seeing as this is your first time at the job, I have my nephew helping you." She beamed.

"Thank you Cass." I smiled as she lead me to the kitchen. She tapped a boy on the shoulder and grinned.

I covered my mouth with my hands instantly as I recognised the face from the other day.

I quickly recovered before Cass noticed and played it off as if I never knew the boy.

"This is Hiro, Hiro, this is (y/n) my new employer I told you about." Cass smiled.

"Pleasure to meet you." I said, holding out my hand. He looked at me confused as I gave him a face.

"Y-you to." He stuttered, understanding my reaction and playing along.

"Wonderful! I'll let you guys get started!" Cass clapped her hands, walking away.

Once she was out of total ear shot, I began to work, ignoring Hiro. He however had other ideas.

"Please can we talk?" He asked. I ignored him. "I have one question, if you don't want to answer that's fine." He pleaded. I still ignored him.

"Fine, I won't bother, you don't seem interested." He pouted. I continued to work in the kitchen, baking and cleaning. I kept stealing glances at Hiro, he seemed to be watching my every moment.

I decided to stop him from doing so by turning around. He quickly looked away and dropped the frying pan he was holding. I snatched it up and tossed it to him.

"Okay... Please talk to me." He begged. I stopped what I was doing and stared at him before walking towards him.

"Okay then Hiro, I'll give you one question, go." I said, sitting on the kitchen counter.

"Why did you run?" He asked. I froze and stared, once more.

"I-I... I uh... Sorry what?" I asked, making sure I heard correctly.

"Why did you run... From me?" He said slowly.

"Because... I was afraid." I said.

"Of what?" He asked.

"I said one question and I answered, back to work." I hopped off the counter and continued making donuts.

Hiro looked at me disappointed and and continued working. After a few hours, Cass entered.

"Hey guys, how's things? The cafe is just about ready to close, thanks so much!" She cheered.

"No problem... M-m..." Hiro slowed down at his last words. He cleared his throat and tried again. "No problem mum." He said. I looked at him weirdly and shrugged it off.

"Uh... Here's your pay." Cass said, handing me my five dollars. She walked out of the room looking at Hiro weirdly. I followed her gaze quickly and saw Hiro making the most suspicious face ever.

"Um Hiro... Didn't Cass say you were her nephew?" I asked.

"Oh uh right... Truth is she is... My mum. She likes saying she is my aunt because um..." Hiro went quiet.

"Because?" I raised an eyebrow at him.

"Because... Because... Because! Uh because she doesn't want to embarrass me, she thinks she isn't worthy of being my... Mother?" Hiro said, cringing a little.

"Um... Well I found her nice, she shouldn't be to embarrassed, she seems like a lovely mother." I said.

"Well yeah... Anyways, I'm gonna go to my room... We live above the cafe... See you tomorrow." He said, leaving me.

I grasped the five dollars tightly and walked out of the cafe, walking home in the dusty sunlight.
