I was born from death,
cut out of the womb of a dying women
that no one knew the name of.
She was my mother,
though I never got to know her,
she gave me life,
and with her dying breath
she gave me my name,
Atherus.
The ones who raised me weren't human.
They were half-kin
creatures know as Centaur's.
They have the lower body of a horse
and the upper body of a human.
They were thought to be noble creatures
but they often clashed with human's.
they raised me until I was the age of 18
and they trained me with a sword since I could hold one.
Marious was my teacher.
He was the greatest warrior in the centaur clans.
The leader of the clan was Armen & according to him I was chosen.
Chosen by the gods to accomplish some great deed.
In my mind it seemed like bullshit.
But if its true I better be getting some gold out of it.
On my 18th birthday, I left the clan.
More like I was forced to leave.
They decided to test my training.
They sent me on a quest that no normal human could accomplish.
I was to bring back the head of a hydra.
The only known man to accomplish this was Hercules.
But he was a Demi-god.
How are they expecting me to do this?
But the reward was too great to turn down.
300 gold coins for each head I could bring back.
So there I was traveling through a dark and murky forest.
The sun was visible just a few minutes ago.
But once you enter the forest if seems like the darkness devours you.
I've been looking for the hydra known as The King Of The Forest.
He seems to have quite the reputation to nearby villagers.
But since I would probably be killed by a normal hydra,
might as well go for the biggest one, maybe I'd get more gold for a bigger head.
I could feel something following me.
But it isn't the king.
He's known I was here since I entered his forest.
This was something much smaller, so I wasn't too concerned.
Then it attacked.
The beast lunged at me when it felt that I let my guard down.
With a twist of my spine, and my sword in my hand.
