I carefully set my stuff on my bed. My legs were shaking and so were my arms.
'This can't be any different then the glass.' I thought.
I put the things in order. It went notebook, colored pencils, pencils, pencil sharpener, and screw driver. I started to sweat so I sat down next to all the stuff. I carefully grabbed the pencil sharpener and then the screwdriver. I held the sharpener in my hand, but my hand was shaking so hard. Then my mom called me downstairs. I ran down the stairs and then she said never mind, I don't need anybody that drops things for this job. I sighed and ran up the stairs. I took the pencil sharpener and placed it steadily in my hand. I took the screwdriver and twisted it.
The tiny squeak of metal, hurt my ears but i knew the pain that was coming was worse. I took the sharpener carefully out of the base. I saw a small dot of blood on the blade. It scared me a little bit to see the my blood on the blade, but then I remembered seeing it drip into the cracks in the glass. I walked to the bathroom slowly.
I got in there and grabbed a towel off the bench. I made sure it was a red one. I then grabbed the cool Disney band-aids my mom got. I set my things on the floor near my corner. Putting my back against the corner so that my spine fit perfectly, I brought my legs close.
The first one is always the lightest and the hardest. It's because you're scared. I lift the blade and press it against my skin. It didn't work, that's when I knew I had to swipe it. I lift it back up and bring it to the start of my arm.
Swipe.
