Hey anyone reading this, I would just like to say this chapter is dedicated to @teapot4 👾. Like, their comment inspired me to continue this book. Thank you, @teapot4. Whether you meant it or not, I'm continuing this book.

For the next few days my condition improved, Like, a lot. And one particular afternoon I was lying in bed when I caught my reflection in the mirror. Let me put it to you this way; my hair was tangled, I hadn't washed in days and my dress was all crumpled and dirty.

In short, I looked like shit.

Disgusted with my self I decided to take a bath. It took me a few minutes to work out the nine ornate, gold taps but I managed to turn on the hot water after a bit of trial and much error. I also grabbed a fistful of glass rose petals from a glass pot and threw them in the water. They fizzed until a black rose fragrance was released and then then dissolved. I realised how much alike they were to the homemade pistachio soaps I would make with mama. The smell reminded me so much of home that I nearly started to cry as I slumped down on the floor. I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't realise the tub was full till it was almost about to overflow. So I turned the water off and sank into purple pool and grabbed my 'Only you can read this' book. I started on the first chapter; 'Knowing your Kidnapper' and after an hour I learned how we could use the King's arrogance to our advantage and I memorised most of the corridors near my room from the map I found in the book. I then pulled the bath plug and put on a giant fluffy white bathrobe and curled up on the bed.

I then realised it would be a bit weird if the queen walked in right now with me looking like a little foetus so I decided to put some clothes on. I found a glass button beside my bed that released a whole rail of dresses, and after a while of deciding I chose a blood red skater dress (pic on first page) and matching flats.

I slipped the dress on and noticed it fitted me perfectly which I was very relieved about at first, but then I felt a bit weirded out at the fact that someone was measuring me in my sleep. To push the thought out of my head by adding to the look with a messy bun and a bit of makeup (when I say a bit I mean mascara, fake lashes spell, a shitload of contorting). And when I was done I looked in the mirror and saw a very different girl to the one I saw this morning (in a good way). I felt quite proud of myself but I only had a few minutes to admire my work when there was a knock on the door.

"Just come in." I said, confused at why the queen hadn't just let herself in already.

But instead of the queen a young man walked in, with royal blue wings and jet black hair, and I was quite startled.

"Um...hello." He said, surprised at the casual introduction.

"Oh! Hello," I sat up on the bed, staring at him, taking him in. This was the first step in 'Knowing your kidnapper' and I was tempted to lunge at him, but then I realised, I could have a bit of fun with this guy. *evil laugh*

"I...I have to give you this," He held up a letter with my name on it; Viollette.

"Just leave it on the table," I said as bent down to pick something up, giving him a clear view of my butt. When I turned round he looked uncomfortable, which was exactly what I wanted.

"Um...you have to sign this document saying you received it," he handed me a piece of expensive, creamy paper. I scanned it and concluded that it was in fact legitimate and not some kind of trick from the King or whatever.

"And if I don't?" I challenged. I felt like stirring things up a little bit.

He turned around to look out the window and then said; "Then I'll get punished, I guess." He almost sounded bored.

I felt a little offended so I decided to freak him out a little bit, "And wouldn't that be shame for such a pretty face," I replied cooly.

He was very slow as he went right up to me so we were nose to nose. I was never very good at looking people in the eye and I felt a bit awkward. He breathed very heavily and I was about to pull away when he spoke.

"Just sign the damn paper," he whispered.

Oh, so he's gonna play that game is he?? I thought carefully about my next move. This was my first "exchange" with the King/someone who worked for the King and I didn't wanna waste it.

And I still nose to nose with him when I dove in for a kiss. At first he just stood there, paralysed. Then he relaxed a bit and I leaned in more. But then he realised what we were doing and pulled away.

"What are you doing!?" He shouted.

"I need some blackmail against you" I replied,"You could be very useful," I added on.

"What? You can't do that!" He said angrily, looking at me.

"Why not?" I asked.

"You...you just can't," he said.

"I think you'll find that I can." I casually walked to the other side of the room, grabbed the letter and scanned the first paragraph, "And it looks like here like there's going to be an engagement ball,"

"And you're going to try to escape?" He fake laughed, "You'll never be able to get passed the guards or-"

"Darling," I interrupted, "The engagement party? How is that dramatic? No, I'm leaving during the wedding, but the engagement party is a good distraction while you get me some stuff I'll need,"

"You have no right to do that! I'll have you know I am a general, in fact, one of the best-"

"And I'm the queen of Fairy Meadows. Big DEAL." I interrupted him, "Now, next time you deliver a notice I'm gonna tell you exactly what I need, Ok?" I signed the paper, "You can leave now."

For a second he just looked at me, and then grabbed the paper and left.

Me: one. King: zero.
