The flight was so long and I suprised myself because I slept the entire flight. When we finally arrived at the airport, I walked with my carryon bag and looked for someone with a sign that had my name on it. I was on my tip toes, looking over the crowds of people's heads trying to find one when I saw an older man in a suit holding a sign with my name printed neatly on it. I smiled out of relief and walked over to him. "Hi, my name is (y/n) (y/l/n), am I in the right place?" I chuckled. He gave me a friendly smile. "Yes ma'am. Follow me. My name is Michael by the way, I help out with the foreign exchange student program" he said and shook my hand. "Nice to meet you Michael" I said kindly. "Right this way" he said and took my luggage. We walked out to the parking lot to a black Cadillac and he opened the door for me. I mumbled a thank you and got it. The ride to my host parents' house was about 20 minutes. 20 minutes of awkward silence. Not quite sure what you should say to a dude that you just met and have no real idea of who he is. "Well, here we are Miss. (Y/l/n). Welcome to the Johnson residence" he said and opened my door for me yet again. I slowly walked up to the driveway and looked at the simple yet modern house. My mouth was open in awe and a smile was on my face. This was going to be my home for the next year, I can chill here for a year, I thought to myself. "Here you go, good luck here Miss" he said politely then got into his car and drove off. I grabbed my bags and walked up to the front door. I knocked twice then took a step back. Then someone opened the door. It was a couple in their 30's and in their profile the wife's name was Beth and the husband was Henry. And they had a sweet little dog named Daisy and a 5 year old daughter named Amy. It was a perfect little family. When they happy couple saw me, their eyes lit up with excitement.
