In the room, Winifred begins to pace back and fourth. "It's almost time, Winifred said. There's no other way but to do it this way. The feckless attempts of the school... Sneeves, Lori and I need to go back over to the crime scene and examine. Winifred glances down at her black shoes. Where there's a will, there's a way. Hopefully."
Suddenly an exuberant Lori dashes into their small room. She holds up her sweaty hands and palms. "Are you ready, Winifred? Lori asked her. It's 8:15PM now." Lori eagerly walks over to a small brown table and turns on a small lamp. "Let's do this now."
"Wait, Lori. Winifred said quietly to her. Sneeves said he would help us out. He's going to be here any minute."
Lori glares on. "Winifred...Sneeves? Really? Truly, Winifred. Agitated she said to her. I don't think he has the spine for this."
Lori puts on her clothes and sits at the edge of the bed. It was a blue shirt, blue jeans and a pair of white tennis shoes. Most students wore casual clothes.
"If there's one thing I can't stand, Winifred it's tardiness. Lori looks at the brown wooden clock. It's going on 8:25PM. Where the heck is Sneeves?"
Suddenly there was a small crackle. Someone jolts through the tall white panel windows.
"Someone call my name?"
Sneeves leaps through the tall windows onto the other side, dangling some rope behind him. He had a brown rope holstered from the bottom of the school grounds all the way up to their dorm rooms.
"Hey. Girls, are you ready?" He asked.
Winifred looks up in awe, but cloistered her mouth shut.
"We're ready alright. Now the question is are you ready?" Said Lori to him.
His face frosted over into dread.
"Oh. Very sorry for my tardiness, said Sneeves."
Winifred nudges in. "Sneeves, it's fine, said Winifred. Let's get this over with already." Although she looked slightly agitated.
"We can't be seen. If we are seen, Lori said in a brusque manner, we'll most likely be apprehended by those patrols. And who knows what else could happen to us."
Lori clenched her fist tightly.
"Ready." She said.
"So am I," said Sneeves, rolling back down the rope.
The three falter out of the window and hit the grassy ground floor. They left the rope there then make their way inside the school. Since patrols monitored the dorm rooms, they had to sneak back in.
As they enter the school, they began to take note of a long staircase. It would hopefully lead them to the crime scene on the opposite end of the floor. They began to make their way up the white stone staircases with narrow walls. They take one step at a time, each step tiring them out... Ten minutes later they reach the floor: 11C. As they pry open the metal red doors, they began to canvas the area. "What time does the patrols take their break? It's 8:42PM now, Lori whispered. We need to time this right."
"They go on break in...in three minutes at 8:45PM, said Sneeves. He was monitoring his black velvet watch. Sneeves then hunches down low to the hardwood floor. It shouldn't take long to just canvas the area. I'll be back here." He said.
Winifred gently tugs at Lori.
"Lori, Winifred called out hesitantly. Let's go. Look...they're leaving, Lori, as she peers steadily around the corner. There they go. Now let's get what we need. Crime scene's clear and there's no sign of anyone else here."
