Royal Academy [On Hold]

Chapter 1: The Exhausting Run

"Breathe Annie, breathe" she said to herself. She was running late to take the entrance exam to Royal Academy. Her house was exactly 15 minutes away and she had only 20 minutes left before the doors were closed forever.

Royal Academy home of the elite,rich,powerful and arrogant people the country. Once a year all student aged 15 will be given a chance to complete the test in order to get a full scholarship into the academy. Only one candidate will be accepted each year.

Annie knew this was her only chance to get in. Her parents could never afford the fees and tutoring. There was no other way and she would never give up. She isn't one to do so. She had a mission which she won't fail. She ran as fast as her legs could take her but she know she's almost at her limit. Looking down at her watch she knew she knew she was gonna be too late. But she didn't care. Annie took the short cut even when she knew how horrible that place is and how dangerous it was.

She dashed across the city main streets and finally reached the first gate of the academy. She was bewildered for a second seeing the seemingly golden large gates which encloses the academy's large ground. She thought she had made it but she had the shock of a lifetime when she saw what was next.

A long and endless road. "Oh no...this is gonna be another long run to the main building", huffed Annie. The guards had told her the last bus to the main building just left a few minutes ago and if she could just run there in time then maybe she could be in time for the exams. Again she ran without a thought. "I am not gonna lose", said Annie.

Not until she bumped into a group of students. She bumped into someone hard body and she looked up. Her mind went blank with the handsome god in front of her. She couldn't speak a word. Her mouth was useless even when her god was talking to her. "Hello,are you okay ?"said the guy she never seen before in her life.

After a few more moments she finally found her guts to speak. "I...uhm..am well, sorry but I'm in a hurry to take the entrance exams, thank you again", she squeaked. Then she bowed and ran towards the main building.
It was near, she could finally see the building which looked like a grand mansion with very intricate designs as well as modern and historical features in it.

She made it finally to the large wooden doors of the main building. She tugged it with all her might . It was heavy as ever and she finally open a small slit enough for her body to enter. When she entered she was not surprised to see about hundreds of student from different schools all waiting at the main hall awaiting the test.

In a moment, a bell was rung and some people came down the main stairs. Annie was a little terrified as she was the only one in tattered and old clothes but everyone else seem to be from well off families. Her worried begin to drown her thoughts until a middle age woman who was standing at the centre begin to speak. "Welcome To Royal Academy! I am Mrs.Lange, I'll be in charge of this years test. May the best be chosen to be a student in this prestigious academy"she benevolently spoke.

"Now the test will begin shortly please take your seats in the main hall", another teacher spoke. Annie walked into the great hall which looks much better than anything she had seen before. Her eyes were gleaming with all the expensive fixtures and furniture that were placed in that hall. She took a seat in the middle of the hall and begin to relax her mind. She was having a nerve wracking moment in her head. She knew she couldn't fail and so she made peace with herself and calmed down.

A guy teacher not more than the age of thirty came out and stood on the podium in the centre of the hall. He was holding a piece of paper in his hand. "Only a piece of paper ? Is that the question?"thought Annie. She couldn't be bothered by the thought and was waiting eagerly for the question.

The teacher in front pressed the button to the speaker and started to speak the rules"Please be ready ladies and gentleman, this year's test will be different from the rest of the years. There will be only one question in this test. Write your answer on the paper given with the pen placed on your seats. You will be given 5 minutes. You'll not be given another chance once you submit your answers so think wisely"

Annie took a deep breath and waited for the question which would change her future. "The question is , what is your true intentions on trying to enter this academy? 5 minutes start now" the teacher spoke in a strict manner.

Annie was bewildered. That was the question when she worked so hard for years to aced every subject she could think of just to take this exam. She was furious but she didn't want to waste time. She took the pen and wrote her true intentions. There was nothing to hide and she knew she was true to it.

When five minutes was up she passed her paper to the teacher at the front and left the hall. All the students were to gather in the hall at exactly two hours . All candidates were allowed to roam the main building as well as have lunch in the cafeteria. Annie was famished and her tummy made a low growl. She knew where she needed to be so she followed the signs to the cafeteria. She was shocked to see that this was no ordinary cafeteria it looked like a 7 star hotel restaurant more likely. There were chefs just lining up to cook at the centre as well as a wide variety of food which was already set in trays. The tables were set in seats of 4.
She just couldn't believe this. She took a plate and grab whatever she could and ate till content. Then she rested in her seat and took a short walk around the main building before she got back to the hall.

It was two hours sharp.A group of teachers came out and I saw one of them with a golden crest envelope. "Attention please all candidates , the chosen student has been selected" ,said Mrs.Lange as she stood at the podium. "The chosen student to enter the Royal Academy is..... "
