Royal Academy [On Hold]

Chapter 2: The Chosen One

"The chosen student to enter Royal Academy is Lucas Richards. Congratulations" commented Mrs.Lange. Annie's heart dip below hell and did a 360 summer salt. She was beyond furious. How could she have not been the chosen one. She just couldn't believe it anymore so she got up from her seat and ran up to the centre of the podium. She screamed at the top of her lungs "Why was I not chosen ? " The guards took notice of her and quickly grabbed her by her arms. She was wincing in pain as the guards was like twice the size of her own body.

She couldn't escape. There was nothing she could do. This was the end of her mission. She could never accomplish what she had set out to do since the day she turned 5. The guards took her to the main gate and threw her to the ground with a stern warning never to come back in unless you are a student here.

When this was happening, someone was lurking in the shadows looking at this whole incident. The person was happily smiling with a chuckle. "Hmm...I think this year would be an interesting year", said the person in the shadows.

Annie was crying with all her heart. She slumped her head to the ground and was crying without a pause. Her tears just kept flowing until her skirt was damp. She just sat there for sometime and finally thought that it was the end. She went home in a sadden mood. When she opened the door her mother came to her and asked, "Hey honey! How did the test go ?" She just couldn't take it anymore. She ran to hug her mother tight and cried in her arms. "Shuusshh, it's okay dear, don't cry anymore we will find another way", her mom said comfortingly.

After she stopped crying, her mom took her to her bedroom and told her to sleep and rest after she changed into her pyjamas. Her clothes were soaked in tears and sweat from all the running she had to go through this morning. Her mind couldn't rest. She couldn't sleep. All she could think about was that line, "The chosen student to enter Royal Academy is Lucas Richards". How her heart broke at that one line. Her future would change from here. She just didn't know what to do next.

She knew The Richards. They were a well off family but they weren't rich enough to enter the academy through admission. Lucas was also a student there at her school but he was in the upper class. Their family were the owners of a famous restaurant here in the town. She has walked by their posh restaurant when she passes by her school every morning. It cost her month's savings just to eat a decent meal there. She couldn't guess what was his reason. "Was his intentions more true than mine?", as that is what she was thinking. She hated the feeling in her heart and finally fell asleep.

The next morning she woke up early and got dressed in her normal uniform to get to her normal school. She went downstairs and grabbed a piece of toast before she headed out the door. She didn't want to think about it anymore so she tried her best to keep herself happy. Her friends called out to her at the intersection point where they would usually meet. She greeted them with smiles but her best friend, Elise knew she had something she was hiding.

While they were walking, Elise asked, "Are you okay Annie? I know something is wrong. It's written all over your face don't try and hide it from me". She knew she couldn't hide anymore and told her that she didn't make it into Royal Academy. Elise made a sullen face and knew she had asked the wrong question. They were quiet all the way to their school gates.

When they reached, there was a black limousine parked outside the school. Who could it be they thought. It couldn't be anyone from this school cause nobody owned a limousine with guards standing guard all over. They knew there were rich people in their school but they have never seen anyone who would done that move.

They decided to just leave the thought behind and headed to class. They didn't want to be late as first class was Mr.Bernards class which was also our class teacher. He was fierce and scary. Nobody could escape his clasp once you're in his blacklist. He will always be looking at you even if he's facing the whiteboard. Nobody knows how he does it but he has eyes at the back of his head as the rumours said.

All of us sat down at our respective seats and at 8 a.m sharp the bell rang and Mr.Bernard came it. He stood in front of the class and took the class attendance before he started class. He called the name of each student and when he was gonna call my name a guy in a black suit and shades came in with the school's clerk. They talked in the front of the class and Mr.Bernards said with a sigh "Miss.Winter's please follow them and report to the office immediately and please bring all your belongings with you". I was shocked and it seems the guy with the black suit was not very happy about me being slow.

So I threw everything and went straight to the office with them.
In the office I was pushed into the teachers room. There inside I saw there was a man who was the same age as me sitting face forward to the headmaster. When my presence was known the headmaster told me to take a sit beside the mysterious man.

I took my sit and the man finally turned his face to me. He was the guy I bumped into the yesterday when I was going to take the test. To say he was handsome was an understatement. He was more than handsome with his slick black hair cut nicely and styled with chestnut brown eyes which could melt the hearts of women. He was wearing a stylish suit which should cost fortunes.

I was snapped out of my zone when the headmaster spoke, "Miss Annie Winters, this man here is a representative of the student council of Royal Academy and the council has offered you a full scholarship to become a student there".
