A gentle wind roused me from my unnatural slumber.A delicious and savoury aroma was wafting through the air. At once I broke free from my bonds and opened my eyes, then every thing that happened yesterday dawned. I looked around frantically and found nothing unusual or dangerous. But beside me I saw two dwarves.
One dwarf was young and looked strong with good weaponry. He had a short braided beard. He wore a long brown fur coat with heavy boots. The other dwarf was older and had streaks of grey hair in his beard,he seemed kind with deep, brown warm eyes.He was applying medicine to the hands of the younger dwarf. There was a pot of hot stew cooking near the dwarves.
As I got up,the younger dwarf noticed me and showed his hand.It had several wounds but not deep.I didn't understand the notion first but soon the penny dropped.I remembered, yesterday I had chaotically swirled the sword in order to protect myself and in turn I had accidentally injured the dwarf.I sincerely apologised and thanked the dwarf for shooting the ghastly goblins down in the midgewater.
The dwarves were quite friendly and they offered me some of their hot stew.I was starving and gladly accepted the generous offer. They later explained that they were also making for Erebor. They invited me to join them.I accepted their offer while gulping down the delicious hot stew.Once finished eating we set off.
The road went on and on,I gave them the berries I collected from Chetwood to eat en route.Later I asked the dwarves about their kin in Erebor. The dwarf said,
"Although my last visit to Erebor was long ago when Thrain ruled as King Under the Mountain I still remember its marvel, the beauty carved onto stone with such diligence and prudence. Enchanted lanterns luminated the vast halls of Thrain. The extensive forges of the dwarves are my favourite with dwarves working keenly and forging swords. My kin are merry folk and they always have good food and barrels brimming with golden ale to share with visitors. The throne hall is the magnum opus of the entire kingdom, the pillars were wrought of mithril and the throne was made of black obsidian. It glimmers like pale moon light in the darkness. The beauty of that hall is unrivalled. Seams of gold and mithril run through the Mountain. I can't wait to see the Mountain again!
I was enthralled, I wanted to visit Erebor more than ever.
We walked until we reached the Last Bridge. The dwarves said it is always safer through water as roads were full of danger and peril,
so we took a boat from river bank and decided to travel through Hoarwell river. It was uncomfortable to sleep but all the weariness put me into a deep slumber.
