I ran behind Pundin until I was out of breath. It was only after sunrise did I realise that Fili was missing. He might as have well gone for a blissful stroll in the vast lands but the foot prints told us a different story. There were other boot prints, heavy and clumsy ones but stealthy. A mysterious ambush at dawn.

We followed the foot prints until the sun was shining brightly above. The air became warmer and filthier. The trails led us to a huge empire hewn of rock. It inflicted terror in our minds. There was a small door wrought of iron leading to the lower cells. We found Fili there in the pitch darkness shivering for it was frosty inside. A lock now separated us from him. We would have to risk breaking the lock which would draw attention.

These areas were interested with orcs and goblins. The forges released toxic fumes into the warm air. A pale, evil light glimmered ominously inside the fortress. The lower cells were outside but the were orcs patrolling the passage inside.

After a few moments of thinking, Pundin chalked out his plan. Pundin broke the lock with his sword and jumped in.I creeped in silently and ran furtively over to Fili's cell. I used my mithril sword just like Pundin to break the lock and Fili was freed. Meanwhile, Pundin was valiantly fighting against the orcs creating a diversion for me to rescue Fili. He stood alone against such terrible foes but he was indomitable with his long, broad sword glinting in the darkness. He fought like the devil, slaughtering all the orcs. Once the mission was accomplished I whistled and Pundin hurtled forward and joined us. Together we escaped the iron prison, but we knew one thing the forges of Angband were kindled and a mighty fire has risen there in.

Without looking back we went on, Erebor was so close. We could see River Running merrily splashing and the huge gates of Erebor wide open welcoming all the visitors. A taut smile spear across Pundin's face but Fili and I could not contain our excitement. Putting all the darkness behind Fili and I ran forward merrily to the gates. Happiness engulfing us and our joy that day could never be expressed in words!
