Chapter 7(Are you alright?)

Daryl's pov:

It's been two days sense Avia told me about her being pregnant. After her tellin be about it I definitely didn't need her leaving my side. Hearing everyone else up in the cell block woke me up from my thoughts and I found myself completely alone on the mattress. I got up and stretched "Hey Beth, seen Avia anywhere" She shrugged her shoulders "I think she's out side helping Rick and Carol and T" Lori said walkin pass me "Yea, well she shouldn't be" I replied annoyed with Avia "So I'm guessing you know then" Lori looked at me with a smile on her face "Know what mom?" Carl questioned walkin out of Hershel cell "Avia is pregnant too baby" Lori said to him as I passed by. Damn woman not listenin, including Avia putting herself in harms way when she's pregnant with my child. I walked out side down the dirt path watchin Rick throw Avia the keys to the truck "Morning Daryl" Carol called when I got closer, I nodded at her and walked up to Rick "Why is Avia out here?" "We need all the able hands we got so I asked her if she could help" He said as the truck pulled through the gate "I'm guessin you don't know" I said watchin Avia hop out of the truck handing the keys off to Carol "Know what?" Rick questioned looking at me "She's pregnant" "Well congratulations" "Yea" I said walking up to Avia. I watched her smile as I got closer "Hey baby" "What the hell are ya doing out here" "I'm helping out" I rolled my eyes at her answer "We need to get the bodies off the grass, Carol pull in the last vehicle. Has anyone seen Maggie and Glenn?" I smiled and pointed at the tower "Yea their up in the tower" "Weren't they up there last night?" Rick joked "Glenn,Maggie!" I yelled to them watchin Glenn walk out pulling up his pants "Hey guys!" He waved "You comin'" I yelled back at him hearing everyone around me laugh as I repeated the question. I turned back to Avia and pulled her close to me "If ya feel tired get that pretty behind back to the prison" I said with my lips pressed against her forehead pulling her along which me back to the gate. "Hey Rick"T said makin us all turn to see the prisoner we spared walk up to the gate "Stay here with Carol" I said to Avia as we walked off.

Avia's pov:

We watched as they guys walked off "How are you feeling?" Carol asked hugging me from the side "For right now fine but I know sooner or later this morning breakfast will make its reappearance" she laughed at what I said as we started to walk up to where the guys had headed "Not going to lie morning sickness sucks" "Is it to early to start blaming Daryl?" I asked as we slow made our way closer "I would hold off on that until your giving birth". I sighed at the thought. I stopped behind Daryl listen as much as I could to the conversation. Rick made the two men walk to the gate then Daryl locked them inside "Do you seriously want this guys sleeping in a cell next to you, or going back to sleeping with one eye open" Rick asked T "I never stopped" he replied "That Axle guy seems to be unstable" Glenn added "We worked to hard for this place to let it go to waste now" Carol said placing her hands on her hips "Not to mention two of our women are pregnant" Daryl added leaning against the over turned bus looking at me "They can't even kill walkers" "Ok our deal with them stands". Carol and Daryl went to get the remaining vehicles through the gate and I hoped in to the truck with Rick and T and we brought the cars closer to the prison. Rick Daryl and Glenn went on a perimeter walk while me Carol and t parked the cars. I hoped out of the suv and saw Hershel walking out on crutches. We all watched in amazement. I walked over to him and gave him a hug "I heard about your baby" he said with a smile "Yeah, it seems like everyone knows now" he smiled at what I had said "This baby just like Lori's is a blessing, but you need to take it easy" "You sound like Daryl" I joked looking to where Daryl was. Today was a good day for us. Or so we thought "Walkers" Carl shouted. We all turned to see a good dozen walkers headed our way. "No!" I heard Rick yell "AVIA!" I looked over to see the three men racing back to the building. I pulled out my gun and shoot as mean as I could before I barricades myself in one of the vehicles. I watched as the zombies tried to get in not know where any of the other where I placed my hand over my stomach and prayed for mine and my baby safety alone with everyone else's. I closed my eyes and wait for something anything. I heard people screaming, I heard Maggie and Beth both yelling out my name but I hope for now I was safe where I was. The walker banging on the windows and the metal go louder my eyes open to se a whole bunch of them around the car, scraping their teeth against the window s blood covering the the window. I pulled my self to the back seat when I saw the window start to crack "Daryl!" I screamed.

Daryl's pov:

Me, Rick and Glenn all stood against the fence watching Hershel walk around on the crutches we had found him, Glenn smiled at the sight "He's one tough sone of a bitch, Way to go Hershel!" I hushed him and pointed to the walkers behind us "Can't we have one good day?" He said as he tried locking the fence back up. I shook my head and looked back towards Avia. She was glowing in the sun as if she was a angel in this world of shit. Everything seemed peaceful until we saw walkers start toward s our families "No!" Rick yelled as me and him booked it towards the gate "AVIA!" I yelled keeping my eye on her for as long as I could before she disappeared "Lori!" Rick yelled right before he got to the gate "Keys, Glenn,Keys!" I yelled back at Glenn. He threw them to me then I threw them to Rick who unlocked the first gate. We shoved the prisoners out of the way and I watched Rick struggle for a moment to unlock the damn gate. Every moment that passed was just another step closer to Avia and my child being Walker food. When Rick finally got the gate open we both raced to the prison "Daryl! Avia is in the car" Beth yelled at me as soon as we where in the court yard. I looked over at the vehicles to see a decent amount of Walker focused on one of the cars. I lifted my crossbow and shot the bastards freeing up the door. I flung the door open to find Avia curled up on the floor crying, I reached for her and she jumped away "Baby it's just me" after saying that she jumped out of the car and into my arms "Are you ok" she asked shaking in my arms "Are ya ok?" I felt her nod. I walked her over to the gate where Hershel and Beth where "Keep her there" Rick said then the alarms started going off. I nodded at Hershel then we ran into the prison to find the other.

Avia's pov:

I sat there in a state of shock. Beth was holding me and Hershel was checking me for any bites or scratches "Do you think the baby will be ok" I finally asked out my body still shaking "If you take the next couple of days to relax I don't see why it wouldn't be" he said sitting on the stairs I front of me and Beth "I'm pretty sure if you don't Daryl will definitely make that happen" I laughed a bit and still having tears fall from my eyes. We sat on the steps waiting for them to come back. My mind full of worry about my little family. I breathed in throw my nose then out through my mouth trying to keep calm for the baby but I was worried about Daryl "He's going to be ok" Beth said rubbing my back "I know but i love him to much and I don't want this baby to lose its daddy like this"...
